Hi all,a few crimbos ago I got a iPod touch 4
I only use it for radio and listening to old skool rave/house choonz on utube and it lives permently on the speaker dock in the kitchen.
Now the last 2 months the music has been cutting out....and I noticed that the wifi signal bar goes from full beans then nothing.....so I put me iPhone in front and played the same song on the iPod and iPhone ....1/4 though the song the iPod dropped the wifi signal but the phone was still playing and showing full strength
Ok the phone is newer ( 5s).... But surely that shouldn't matter??
Any help on a fix for the iPod guys??
Thanks
Had this on an old iPad 2 recently:
1) Do a hard reset (press and hold both buttons until you see the Apple logo
2) If that doesn't work then Settings/General/Reset/Reset Network Settings
3) Set up your Wi-fi again
4) if that hasn't fixed it then plug in to iTunes and install any outstanding updates
5) repeat 2+3
If that doesn't work then you may have to do a full reset, so do a back-up when you connect to iTunes
Thanks Mike.....I'll update if it works
Cheers
Well know issue on iPhone 4S that the wifi chips where poor amd many had issues, my point being it could be a hardware / chip issue. My 4S wifi died, did a few hairdrier - yes really - resets as per web but in the end it expired and Apple said it was not a replaceable part and as phone more than 2 years old and not bought from thr. nothing they would do. Search a few specific apple forums, it could be a hardware issue 🙁
Well I tried no1
And it seems to work....not had any dropping....yet.....fingers crossed it stays like that.....
I really hope it's not a dodgy chip....as that sounds bad of Apple to sell high end stuff with crappy bits...surely they should replace free??
Anyway ..thanks guys
