I legitimately upgraded my works iPhone 4s to iOS 9, as part of that I responded to a pop up asking to merge my contacts with iCloud...

I agreed...oops! Subsequently I found advice from my employer saying do not allow this 🙄

So now the app that manages my emails/calendar/contacts cannot sync with the device, so all my incoming calls are unidentifiable, and my contact list is largely empty. I cannot re-enable the sync with device option as the device is already syncing with another app (iCloud).

As its a corporate phone, the Settings > iCloud option is greyed out, no control at my end. Logging into iCloud on a Windows PC, Apple Support asked me to sign out of Find my iPhone but the option isn't visible, and removing the device just results in it coming back when it reconnects to the internet.

My employers support desk just says they cannot help and want to swap the device out, if that has to be then so be it, its just a pain.

Any bright ideas how I can break or turn off the contacts > iCloud sync so I can re-enable the sync on the app I want to use?

Hard/Factory resets are not an option as it would need to be rebuilt with all the company stuff. Looks like I'll be returning it...

It'll be a like-for-like in-house reconditioned 4s, mine is in good nick and decent battery life but most coming back out get to 50% and then just turn off.

Oh well!
