Anyone found any decent cases for the new Iphone XS Max? It must have a tempered glass screen protector and fully enclose the phone without being as bulky as an otterbox or similar. I'm not fussed about impact protection more scratch protection from sticking it in bike jerseys with keys etc.
The best I have found so far is the Olixar Sentinel but it looks a bit chunky.

I'd go for whatever Spigen are releasing initially.
The phones aren't out in the wild yet hence me looking for information on the same case for other models. The XS max is barely any different to last years X so if a case worked well on that I presume the same type will work well on the new model.
There are hundreds of different cases available already.
I had a look at spigen and found one I like but its pre-order only at the moment. I might just get one on order and have a look for something to tide me over until it arrives
If/when I get one I'll do the same as I have for my last few phones, a JETech case from Amazon and a tempered glass front from The Pound Shop. That combo has worked well for me.

I really like Apple's own brand cases. They fit perfectly and feel amazing. I wouldn't buy a hugely expensive phone and cover it in a cheap plastic case that affects the feel of the thing. Just my 2p.
I do however have a screen protector, so the only bit of the phone that is uncovered is the 'notch', the area around the lightning port and a recessed ~1mm gap between case and screen protector.

Seeing as how the phones are, apart from size, pretty much identical to last years iP X, and many case manufacturers get access to basic schematics with precise dimensions well ahead of release, in order to have product available as soon as possible.
Anker had a really nice, basic case consisting of a protective outer ‘band’ to go around the metal spine, with glass protectors for front and rear. I’d guess they’re doing them for the new range of phones as well.

I’ll likely upgrade this time around, my iP 6+, while still working fine on iOS 12, has bugger-all space left, and that’s 128Gb, I’ve been wishing for a phone that could match or improve on my old iPod Classic 180Gb, with plenty to spare, my iTunes library is around 220Gb, so 512Gb will suit me just fine. The Anker case is exactly what I’ll be fitting, my 6+ had an Otterbox to start with, but I got really tired of its bulk, so I bought a £7 ‘gel’-type case, and it’s been excellent, along with a glass screen protector; I pulled it out of my pocket by accident the other day onto concrete, and it bounced. Zero damage.

I have ordered the spigen ultra hybrid and a couple of others off amazon to give a try. There are loads available but not with 360deg coverage. it amazes me they advertise them as shock proof/ rugged then the main glass is still exposed. I have tried in the past to buy an open faced case with a screen protector but there is always some exposed edges that end up lifting and getting mud underneath.
I don't look after my phone but want it to last the year contract hence the protection. I have found the tempered screen protectors work really well as a sacrificial cover.
I'm using a Pitaka MagCase for mine - which works very well with their magnetic wireless car mount.
Also their customer service is great, my car mount stopped working and after a couple of emails and a video of it not working and another wifi charging pad working using same cables they sent me another one straight away with no fuss.
Not sure how sturdy it is for drop protection as it's really slim but it does the trick for me

That’s exactly how my 6+ is protected, a cheap clear gel type case, with a glass screen protector. If a glass protector is put on properly, then it’s almost impossible for anything to get underneath. I’ve had the case and protector on my phone for around two years, there’s a small Nick in one corner of the glass protector, but otherwise it could have been put on last week. I dropped it onto concrete a couple of days ago, and it just bounced. When I finally replace it with an Xs Max I’ll do exactly the same with that.
