I've gone and done it, after nearly 4 years on iOS I've jumped ship back to a galaxy s8 and so far, it's a bit of a let down.
The screen is amazing, battery life is good and I like that I can easily choose my own default apps, but I can't get it to work 'normally
1st problem - I'm not getting any Facebook notifications other than birthdays is that normal? I can't get it to work and I've checked all the notification settings (I think) any ideas?
2nd problem - voice commands don't work with my car unless I've got it on Bluetooth media, which I don't use often. My iPhone happily worked separately as a phone. Is this even possible? I've got a 2014 BMW fwiw.
I've been thinking about chopping it in for a used iPhone 7. Any thoughts?
Cheers
In the facebook app? Even chrome bounces the notifications out for just about everything so probably a setting
Have you tried android Auto? Or setting your car bluetooth connection to auto unlock the phone as a trusted device
I tried android auto, my car doesn't support it so it's just a bit of a pain. It would be ok if I could make the voice confirmation either come through as a phone call (which my iPhone would do in my older BMW) or if it came out of the phone instead of the stereo, bit I can't find how to force it.
I wouldn't be at all bothered, but my iPhone worked so well with no set up needed it's a bit of a downer.
Best bet is probably googling the car audio and android to get something working from that, there are plenty of variations, I've been using more modern stuff mostly which just works either over bluetooth or via apps.
Yeah it's definitely the car that's the issue. BMW don't even support android auto on new cars let alone 4 year old ones. They're either way behind the curve or know that 99% of their customer base are sheeple.
Still might go for that iPhone 7 instead though, these emoji are gopping too 😂
