Did anything ever happen with the slow text input on here? Just updated to 5.1 and it's even worse.
Seems to get worse the further through type to the right of the screen.
Just noticed zooming out a bit actually helps but then text is quite slow.
I've noticed zooming and text entry has gotten worse with 5.1 :/
Are you saying your also finding zooming out makes it manageable?
The delay must be coming from phone trying to move the window to the right as you type.
There is a dramatic difference to it's usability when zoomed out.
Yeah, loads of websites do it. Known problem with iphones.
I find that pinch to zoom is lagging more in 5.1, it takes that much longer to register my zooming efforts...

can you get swype on iphones yet - presumaby it enters whole words at once
Can't say that it's any worse on here now than it was. I updated to 5.1 last night, and it's still a bit laggy, although I've just zoomed out as suggested and it does improve text entry, it's just a bit tricky to read. Still, won't be an issue after March 16...
I posted a while back Asking the mods/it bods to look into it. Still the same! I've also noticed I can't use the back arrow to go back to the main forum page once I've read a certain thread, it never refreshes that page as it used to.

Well just disabled spotlight search and it doesn't appear to be much better.
Its definitely down to the screen moving along as you type, as soon as you pinch zoom out a bit it works fine.
