Anybody used a 3rd party software to fix an iPhone stuck in recovery mode.
Trying to rejuvenate an old iPhone 6 that’s not been used for years for my son.
When first using it went straight to recovery i thought because the battery wouldn’t hold charge (only came on with charger).
I replaced the battery, it comes on now without power plugged in so the new battery is ‘working’ but still get the recovery screen and it refuses to recover when connected to iTunes.
There is some data transfer going on since iTunes recognises the serial number and also the iOS that is likely to be correct ie it says it’s going to update to ios12 which I assume is the only one it can run but then it fails the update and returns to the recovery screen.
Bin it?
Try this:
Press the Power (wake/sleep) and the Home button at the same time.
Keep pressing both buttons for at least 10-15 seconds.
Let go of them when the Apple logo appears on the screen.
Thanks @dove1 no that doesn’t seem to work. The apple logo appears after a second or two but then disappears again if I keep them held. Either way letting go at logo or after 15 seconds doesn’t seem to work.
