I’d like a moon on a stick please and also a good shockproof and possibly waterproof inexpensive slim case for my new SE.

I’ve used Lifeproof and Otterbox in the past but there are loads on Amazon (which I’d like not to use if possible) which look similar.
The phone is going to need to survive my new job working in outdoor activities on a reservoir and on a bike. The ability to attach a lanyard could be useful.

What would you get for no more than £40?

The new SE is pretty water resistant ... so I'd worry less about that.

You mainly need to decide if you want to mount it on a bike or carry it IMHO.

I'm still using my old quadlock from the iphone6 with a bit drilled out at the back for the camera.
It's been bulletproof through a LOT of OTB's... had it in my back pocket yesterday for what I was informed by one of the girls I was riding with was "the biggest crash I've seen in real life" and the phone was fine.

The kid swears by his Mous one but they don't have a bar mount and I don't think they will support the SE for long... they seem to be a "premium phone only" accessory company. (Only 2 models of case for the SE for example and limited screen protectors compared to premium phones)

Well this faded away; I’d forgotten about it myself!
Quick cheeky bump for the evening.

Mous. Not cheap but not massively expensive compared to what it’s protecting.

One of these, with a tempered glass screen protector. Excellent case, it has a lanyard facility built in.

I’ve got the same make of case, in clear, on my iPhone 11 Pro Max, it was £6.99 from Amazon, and it’s done an outstanding job of protecting a £1500 phone, in conjunction with a glass screen protector, for the last two years. I bought a two-pack of protectors for about £8, edge-to-edge ones.
I had an Otterbox on a previous iPhone, and frankly it was rubbish. The thin plastic screen protector bowed up in the middle, needing extra pressure to use the touch screen, so in the end I had to rip it out, it was bulky and just not nice to use. Seeing as recent iPhones are pretty water resistant, all you need is drop protection on the corners and extra scratch protection on the screen.
Mine is attached to an old Garmin lanyard which has a snap buckle quick release, using 50lb fishing leader line, the other end is looped around my belt, and I can’t begin to count the number of times that has stopped my phone dropping to the floor, or just being lost through slipping out of my pocket clambering in and out of cars all day.
If/when I upgrade, I’ll be getting exactly the same make of case, nothing I’ve seen gives any better protection for a lot more money.

I had a Mous case for my work iPhone 8+

It wasn't very good, didn't fit very well and the buttons were inoperable. They swapped it for another and it had the same QC issues.

The replacement Spigen case has been great.

I have a Spigen for my Xiaomi A2 and it fits and works perfectly

Quad lock every time. As a case it’s pretty unobtrusive and offers good protection, but with the available mounts it’ll fit on your bike or in the car/campervan.
