Im looking for a case preferably leather or is silicone the way to go for an iphone 3gs,anybody got one they would recommend,or ones to stay clear of
There is just so much to choose from
Thanks
What's the case for? I use a screen protector and a clip on cover (which basically looks just like the real back of the phone) which works for me.
I like the Griffin iClear case - comes with a screen protector and it's a clear plastic case so doesn't really alter the appearance of the thing (that's on an iPod Touch though).
I don't like a permanent case so I use this.

I have a 'exspect' leather slip case...(£20 at an O2 shop)...it's similar to the Sena one linked in the previous post...nice and slim / holds the phone well...has a neat tab on it that you pull and it lifts the phone out (shaking the case upside-down and the case holds the phone firm).
I'm just a little worried that I'm going to drop it once it's out of the case (my prime browsing location at work has a tiled floor!) so I'm going to try a silicone case.
I use an incipio feather, very slimline - just covers the back but comes with screen protectors if you want to use them
I have the Exspect one too - fits very snugly and has a little strap you pull to reveal the phone which is nice. It looks dead classy and I am happy with mine. I also use a screen protector 'just in case'.
I use one of these. Use it with a screen protector and find it brilliant. I work in the steel and engineering industry so am constantly around grease and dirt and it keeps it perfect. Its so good and cheap that I bought a couple.
