Hi there,
Does anybody know of an app that allows me to sync my calendar with another calendar?
My calendar is my standard work Outlook application, whilst my wife hasn't decided on hers yet.
Thanks
Google calendars maybe? Then use the mailbox settings and only pull in the calendar from the gmail option if you dont want the mails.
You can configure it as exchnage too so you get a better push service.
Interesting suggestion, thanks.
So I would create a Google account and simply push my calendar entries there, (via an app?), and then share the Google calendar username/password with my wife so she can use it?
You can sync multiple google calendars to the iPhone so maybe set a separate one up for your wife? You don't need an app. i think you can also sync Outlook with google calendars too.
I use google calendar which easily syncs with my phone. I then use google calendar sync at work to keep outlook synced with google calendar. All seems to work reasonably well.

Easy to share calendars in google as well if you want to view wife's calendar and vice versa
You wont need an app - you can set the calendar so it only has the gmail/google calendar entries.
You both use same account and when you make a new appointment it will push that up into the "google cloud" (hate the term im sorry)
Get a gmail account, then get a google calendar account.
Then google "gmail exchange iphone" you will find the settings in the gmail pages. Configure it on both iPhones - even configure it on your outlook/ical applications.
In your mailbox settings it lists your mailboxes - select the exchange one and turn mail and contacts off and only select calendar - this will mean only the calendar from google will sync.
OK, getting there. Do I need the PC sync as well, or will the fact my iPhone is syncing suffice?
The 2x Iphones will suffice.
You can login to your calendar as a web page too - edit appointments and they will sync to your phones.
Have a look on you tube - someone has probably posted a video about it - there is for everything else iphone related.
If you use outlook at work - just use owa to set it up on your iphone - no app needed and certainly none of this google callander rubbish
Just hand your iPhone to your wife and let her read your calendar? Easiest way to share it!

How will this facilitate a shared calendar? or is that callander?

I use a Google App which syncs my work pc with my google calendar. I then just have the google calendar on my iPhone.
You could probably directly link your work outlook to your phone if your employer's security settings allow it. Mine don't.

Some Exchange profiles enable a really annoying 8 digit passcode lock on the phone, my employer allows us to add an exchange mailbox/calendar but this screen locks with 8 digit code is horrible to work with.
It changes every 30 days too then to top it off you cant reuse a code for ages.
If i was you I'd push those work appointments into a google account (Edit: using that link above ^) - then depending if you want wife to see your work ones or not either set up a specific shared one plus your own - or just use the shared one for all and in both instances have multiple devices access it.
Update:
Thanks for the help guys. Almost there
My iPhone already syncs with my Office Outlook, so no issues there. I created a Google account and then synced my laptop with the Google calendar using there sync tool. Perfect, 700 odd items straight over, no issues.
I then shared my calendar with my wife so she can view, create, and edit appointments. Excellent.
The only question remaining is that I can not get my new iPhone CalDAV account to push updates to Google. I've two new meetings on my phone that have not synced. I have no access to my laptop, therefore I'd like my phone to push these appointment to Google. Any ideas?
