iPhone6 updated to latest 9.3.
2 problems:
1. Mail
Links in emails (eg Westbeach, STW Newsletter, Adult Friend Finder...) both don't work and crash the app ie I have to swipe-quit the mail app and restart to get back to inbox etc. if I try to click on a link. Gmail seems to be working fine.
2. Safari/Chrome
You know when you use the address bar to google something? Well, once googled none of the links on the first page will click through to anything. I get that magnification of the address bar when I tap the link but that's it. Holding my finger on it doesn't bring up the "Open in new tab, etc" menu. The same thing seems to be happening in Chrome. 😕
Anybody have any idea what's going on? I've done the "clear website data" thing. Is there a setting somewhere where I've accidentally disabled being able to click on links? As they're native (think that's what they're called anyway) apps, it's not like I can delete and re-install them.
There has been bugs with older models like the 5, not sure about the 6.
My old man's 6 is fine.
Reinstall or check for an iTunes update instead of direct.
Yeah some people are experiencing bugs none here on 5c, 6, 6+, iPad 2 or iPad Pro
Every time I try to install the update, it says 'verification failed as you are no longer connected to the Internet' like its MY fault. I'd just not bother but it keeps nagging me, and it's irritating.
Why oh why is there no option for 'actually I'm perfectly happy with how my phone works now thank you, stop bloody pestering me' 😡
Sorry, no help with your issue, just felt like venting my own iPhone update whinge...
Sounds odd.
Standard approach with any kind of dodgy update is to hook it up to iTunes, do a FULL backup (with password), then do a Factory Reset and restore from the backup.
That often sorts any issues caused by flash corruption or other cruft.
Flash? 😀 😀 😀
Really? 😀 😀 😀
Why did nobody tell me... 😮
Don't suppose you've got the booking.com app?
Reportedly causing a similar issue.
Not sure how to tell you this - but I can't click on your link. 😆 😡
But yes, I do have the booking.com app. Can you cut and paste what it says? 🙂
Wife's phone doing the same - safari not working yesterday. Links in email not working. iPhone 6s and iPad Air 2 both the same
Seems like there's a lot of issues with both 9.3 and 9.2.1. Been a lot more reports of it since 9.3 has gone live tho
Mine works fine tho
Will try GrahamS' recommendation. So is that: 1. BackUp 2. Hard Reset to factory defaults 3. Restore from back up. ?

Same issue on my 5s and if I try and do it via itunes, says I'm on the latest software. Apparently Apple have stopped letting older models update to the issues, thanks for telling us! Link.
...thanks for telling us! Link.
STOP IT! 😡
Same issue and from my research (I searched for hours and found nothing that worked) there are no fixes. Some have taken it to apple and they have not been able to fix it. Some say Apple blame network providers.
Have tried all the fixes - faffing with Safari, changing search engine, soft reset, full reset, Java etc and nothing works.
Pages stored in favourites work fine.
Google App works (chrome didn't) but I'm just using Bing. Frustrating that I cannot open links (didn't realise how much I did that) but I guess I'll just have to wait for Apple to release an update.
Sorry, DD; couldn't resist.

In summary, the booking.com app has an associated file of 2.3MB of URLs, and this is causing iOS an issue. You look to have the problem until Apple make a fix available or, as GrahamS mentions, a full back-up and reinstall.<sad panda>
On the plus side, the booking.com app has been fixed, so remember to delete it before backup.
Sigh.... Samsung S6/7 upgrade will resolve all your iPhone issues
Does the person who creates these **** ups get the mother of all bollockings and not allowed near a computer ever again or awarded Apple star employee of the month. These **** ups are not acceptable.
Does Apple ever apologise?

iShuddered.
I upgradded my 6 on first release, its been running fine but today I noticed links from google searches don't work, as above neither do links in this thread
My 5s didn't suffer any of the issues but a new version of iOS 9.3 now seems to be available.
Every time I try to install the update, it says 'verification failed as you are no longer connected to the Internet'
Yup.
Gave up. Uninstalled the update. Now the ipad tells me i've got the latest software so whatever.
Front page of macrumors.com has a few articles on the unavailability-and-then-availability of the update for various older devices.

FTFY.
Android is as full of exploit holes as a Swiss cheese, never a peep from Google, as for the cluster**** that's been Microsoft over the last couple of decades, well...
Vista, anyone?
Just checked, links don't in Mail either @dd so my 6 has the same issues
The availability/unavailability was for older phines where if a user could not remember their appleid password it would lock
Have done backup/reset/restore but still borked. Bah!
*awaits 9.3.1*
Ishuddered, Ilaughed you Fan Boyz make me laugh I assume you posted that on a PC rather than an iPhone running 9.3? I would post a link to samsung but you wouldn't be able to use it...
Well I suppose never issuing updates is one way to guarantee no problems.
My 5S was fine because the update wouldn't install. The new update received this morning has installed OK.
@oldman well I've been using my phone since the update came out and I hadn't noticed.
Ah! Discovered this thread too late after starting the update process - I wonder what weirdness and PITAs awaits me.
After using Apple for almost 15 years I am so fed up of the software now - it's getting buggy and naggy and far from a joy to use.

You're talking about the brand and operating software of a phone, right? You're writing about it like it tried to goose your missus.

As well as diving into an thread asking for advice on a software update screaming Samsung but no, we're the fan boyz.
@jambalaya - it didn't affect all models.
@reluctantlondoner - try updating again, there is a new release this morning.
No issues with my 6s, but then did update from iTunz..
@bikebouy I don't think its related to ota updates, there is some speculation its due to booking.com app whuch I have on my phone (affected) but not iPad (fine)
Apple are working on the fix MacRumors story
For anyone else affected, update is out now. Installed here and all seems to be back to normal.
Thank you .. off to update now
