Trying to connect my friend's iPad to hotel Wifi and when the Gateway login comes up, when I click on the password field it doesn't bring up the keypad to let me type the password in.

I've already connected my own MBP and that's how I'm doing this.

Any clues?

Can't find anything on the internet anywhere about this problem. The only similar situation is with Bluetooth keyboards, but the iPad hasn't been used with one ever. In the hotel there is a Bluetooth device somewhere which is trying to pair, but I've no idea what it is. I tried pairing but it won't let me. So I've turned Bluetooth off and still no keyboard comes up on the iPad.

Help!!

Does the keyboard come up in other apps?

Have had similar problems, depends how the hotel have implemented the security page and whether that is iPad friendly/supported. Try going to Safari and just accessing the internet, that often brings up the login page.

Just tell 'your friend' to use their imagination or go an look for jazz mags in the bushes like the good old days.

have turned off and on again. no joy.

yes, keyboard comes up in other apps no problems.

starting safari brings up the login page, but that's where the problem is. on the login page.

other residents in the hotel are accessing the internet with their iPads, there's just me and another person who have the same keyboard not coming up problem.

any other clues?

I've had problems previously similar to this, more often than not with BTOpenzone.

Try going into Settings>Safari>clear history and clear data.

That's what works for me.

Type the password in notes and copy and paste into the password field?
