I've had Siri turned off for a while on my iPhone as it kept going off in my pocket. However, now I've upgraded to iOS9 I can't find it at all 😕

It's not under Settings-General-Siri where it used to be, and I can't find it anywhere.

Google suggests it should be there...any ideas?

There's a search bar in the settings app now.

Find it through there!

Settings->General->Siri here.

iOS9 now lets you search your Settings (just pull down a bit at the top and type "Siri"). Try that?

Just tired the search in settings, shows General-Siri, click on it but goes to General only, no Siri there.

Hmm.

What do people actually use it for? The only thing I have found it good for is sending text messages whilst driving

My 12 yr old daughter has conversations with Siri! It has her in peals of laughter sometimes.

That's mostly what I use it for.

And reading out the incoming messages too.

"siri, will I need an umbrella tomorrow?"

...that and quick reminders.

Another of my daughters favourite passtimes is to change my name on my phone - goes something like this...

"Hey Siri - call me big fat trumpy bottom face"*
Siri acknowledges
Then say - "Hey Siri - what's my name"
Siri replies

This process causes great amusement amongst children!

(*she may call me worse than that but I can't type it here!)

I use Siri a lot as I am quite forgetful.

Siri, remind me when I get home to...

Siri, set an appointment for 1pm on the 25th for physio

Siri, cancel all alarms!
^^ This works on friends phones if they are plugged in, just say "hey siri..."

I use it quite often. calling people hands free while driving. Especially good now you can say "call ......... On speaker". Use it for directions composing and reading messages, playing playlists/artists/albums when I've got headphones in.

Just decided to give Apple a go, so will see how this pans out.

Opened a case in 1 minute, they sent me a link which I clicked, and they called me 2 minutes later. Talked me through some steps and now my phone has been erased 😯

All part of the process, apparently it'll be restored back to exactly as it was, except with Siri on board!

Fingers crossed 😕

I use it to call people, take notes, play music, send texts and find out who the artist is of the song currently playing - all while commuting on my bicycle.

I also like to tell it to **** off occasionally for fun.

Oh and it's also about 23% accurate on any of the above tasks 🙂

Found the fix, and it wasn't resetting the whole phone 🙄

1. Open Settings
2. Go to "Restrictions"
3. If Siri is turned off here, that's why it's not showing as it should normally.

Turned on under "Allow" in restrictions and Siri is back.

Dunno how or why it turned off but there you go. All working now 8)

Setting reminders: Remind me to do XXXX when I get home etc
Satnav : Take me home
Finding things: Where's the nearest XXXX?
Playing music: Play songs by XXXX

Works well.

I find Siri utterly pointless. Plus it still doesn't understand me. Just about every time I've tried to speak to it it has misheard me. Whereas Google voice search thing has never missed a word.

I always find it strangely pleasing to have this conversation:

Me: tell [Wife's nickname] I'm leaving now.

Siri: Your message to [Wife's full name] says "I'm leaving now". Shall I send it?

Me: Yup

Siri: Okay, I've sent it. *whoosh*

Some days it's almost like living in the future. Of course on other days it is: "I'm sorry, I seem to have lost my internet connection". 😀

Outside the car, only thing is timers and alarms. Saying "timer 30 minutes" is a lot quicker than going to clock > timer > fiddling with the sliders to get the time you want > set.
