After over an hour downloading and installing iOS7 my phone has just restarted.
Will I die?

It's lagging on the ipad. Why? I thought upgrades were supposed to improve.

Can't update on iPad as not enough space. Can't understand how you can upgrade and still use everything as before.

It's turned my phone into a child's idea of an I phone.

OP There is another thread on this ..

I found it a bit strange at first (downloaded it on release day) but I am getting to love it, its much better. Icons etc are very different but in my view much clearer, improvements to safari, photo organisation, control centre, text clarity especially on SMS / messages etc ...

Btw the new Vimeo app with video preview is really excellent, get an account and set ups feed with all you favourite provides like steel city media etc

@bear upgrade via iTunes, that way it doesn't matter how much space you have free on the device (I upgraded my iphone and it had only 1.5gb free)

It's just a face lift. Nothing worth getting excited about. You still can't delete all the Apple apps that you never use.

I think I have the perfect phone.
It's a Nexus 4 with stock Jellybean 4.3.
It's got a Ringke Fusion case with transparent rear.
I've printed a screenshot of ios7 and popped it inside the case.
To the outside world I have the latest Apple device.
However, I don't have to use it, I have the superior functionality of Android and £300 extra £s in my pocket for bike bits.

😀

No, I had to buy the kitkat with a small amount of my spare £300. 😀 Is kitkat headed the same way as ios7, you know, fisherpricemorph or whatever it's called?

The OS doesn't actually use 3.1GB of memory it just needs this to install (I assume to expand packages and do other techy stuff!). My Iphone 5 still had 3GB of spare space after the install.

Just delete a few apps you don't use much and re-download after.

IMO iOS7 is a great improvement, and my iPhone 5, daughters iPad Mini, and wife iphone 4 are all running well with it on.

No probs here on an ipad2 iPhone 4 and 5. Huge visual improvement with some very useful new features. Not noticed any drawbacks as yet.

No-one knows what KitKat will have just yet. October. It'll be a damn-sight easier to install, that's for sure.

Easier than just clicking 'Install' - that would be impressive!

it was just Yes for the last one, and there was no need to tell the world you were doing it just in case somebody didn't get the memo that you own an Iphone (well a completely outdated one 🙂 )

iPad 3 here. What's the consensus, should I bother with iOS7?

The consensus is some people like change other don't it's a very new concept the first time it's ever happened in human behaviour.

No they just piggyback off Apple threads a bit like Android phones themselves. 😀

I think so Ross. Visually I think its a significant improvement, but Beauty is in the eye of the beholder I guess, I think the control panel is a massive improvement as you can use it in lock mode, the rest are just minor tweaks to other things. So don't expect too much - it won't transform your life, but it's what the car industry would call a face lift.

I like it, much cleaner.

Also started a bit of a mac fest in which I set up iCloud sync devices and home sharing to home share all good.

You still can't delete all the Apple apps that you never use.

Stick them all in a folder and hide it on the last home page, gets them out of the way and only one icon on the screen.

Much prefer the new ios7 platform far more intuitive, I actually like my iPhone now. Downloaded via iTunes due to lack of storage space.

You can block unwanted callers in the new iOS. At long last.
