What age is roughly suitable ?
And in which order, 4,5,6,1,2,3 as we saw them, or 1-6 as chronologically correct plot wise?
How about the cartoons, Star Wars: Rebels?
As early as you can get them to sit still for more than a few minutes. My two girls took to it straight away and are now proper fans and have got a few of their friends into it. I started them on the originals of course. They still easily stand up against all the modern kids films. I've not yet introduced them to Episode 3, Revenge of the Sith, as My eldest does get nightmares easily so i'm holding back on that one, but she's very curious about it and only this afternoon was mythering me to watch it, so I might sit down with her soon and watch it with her.
Just give them a go, they'll love them.
They've done the Lego games/cartoons.
I'm not familiar with anything else.

4 first (not that I have a problem with the prequels) turn down the lights, sit 'em close to the telly, turn the volume up. Felt close to what I remember of the cinema experience - the blast of music as Star Wars title appears followed by the Star Destoyer looming into view.
Machete order. There is no other way. Search your feelings, you know it to be true.
What Onza said.

+1.
All borrox.
Machete order is best, Luke following his dad's footsteps...
Star Wars lego mivies first then original movies. Have watched almost 5 seasons of clone wars cartoons inbthe last few months. Junior will be 5 in november. As above not seen revenge of the sith with him yet.
Wot Pigface said. Utter cr@p.
Problem is that they are classics because of your nostalgia. The newer ones that you probably berate hit all the right notes for those of the right generation.
My kids found it at age 5 & 8 and were smitten all by themselves and interestingly Ja Ja Binks, who I think spoiled it, they loved. But then when I saw the originals I thought the Ewoks were rubbish but my younger sister loved them.
Horses for courses, but don't force it, you'll end up being disappointed most.
Well we started with number four and they both loved it.
Amazing how much knowledge they pick up from the Lego games and what the other children at school have said.
Have to say that although it was dated it,has aged very well!
Ha ha.
It's old, outdated rubbish. well, as far as mine are concerned.
I put on any 20th century movie and they look at the grain and dismiss it almost instantly. It was only the promise of gore that enticed them to watch Terminator and T2. Even then they looked astonished at the dated FX and derided the continuity and logic errors.
Having said that I did make them watch all the SW movies in release order. Otherwise the awful recent ones spoil the earlier ones.
I've so far failed to force them to watch the whole of the Star Trek series of movies. Even Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home. They do appear to have almost enjoyed the two most recent ST movies at the cinema though.
just look the re edits up on youtube the first 3 squished into two hours - starts with darth mauls death so no ep1
Machette + 1- or any order you like that also misses out 1 but that one makes the most sense
Tried it with my two when they were 4 and they managed around 40 minutes, just watched almost all of Episode 4 today (before we had to go out) and they were loving it - they have just turned 6.
