So I have an interview on the 10th Jan and plenty of time to prepare!! Thing is I haven't been in a job interview for about 10 years. 7 years working for a company and 3 freelancing. The job is for a senior photographer.
It feels a bit daunting, I'm researching the company and trying to tailor my portfolio to the job. One friend has suggested I take my CV in with accompanying notes, which sounds like good advice.
My question is, has anyone had a job interview recently? If so do you have any good advice or tips?
I really would like to get this job and don't want to make any school boy errors due to lack of experience in interviews.
Thanks for reading and any advice is much appreciated 🙂
Be yourself, be confident in what you do and why it would fit in with the company. Respond to the questions well politely and concisely. And try to pick up on what areas the interview panel are looking for. I find that it always pays to come back to or acknowledge points made by the interviewer, although doing so respectfully and being careful not to be over familiar.
That sounds pretty good advice cheers palmer77, from what I have read recently being over familiar or even funny can be a big downfall. Thanks.
No worries, hope it goes well 🙂
