I've a weird issue thats been bugging me for a while.. hoping STW's tech bods can point me towards a solution.
running Win7 pro, avast and windows firewall.
When I start or wake/resume my pc, I can send/receive emails just fine, I can also connect in remotely no problems.. but it takes an age for me to be able to browse the web with chrome or IE. Dropbox, Gdrive etc also wont connect until the browsers will work. I think this is also around the point at which avast says its updated virus definitions.
Any clues as to where to start trying to get this fixed?

Remove Avast
Removed, no change.
See what you can ping. from a command prompt try:
ping 192.168.0.1 (or whatever your router address is)
ping 8.8.8.8
ping www.google.co.uk
Try unchecking the "automatically detect settings" option under Internet Options > Connections > LAN Settings IIRC.
