Hi has anyone got internal flights recently im debating Manchester to Aberdeen to save driving but not sure on the rules/ security times

I presume I don't need a covid passport (I'm part of a trial, I have natural antibodies but no vaccine before anyone jumps on me)

And how early do you turn up I presume, rightly or wrongly it may be quicker to get through checks if I'm just flying within UK

Oh and can I buy some discount whisky in the shop lol

Thanks for any info from anyone that has flown internally recently

Flew edinburgh to Bristol and back last weekend, must say it was an absolute joy, no queues and staff more relaxed. No one asked about Covid, vaccines etc.

Lots of whisky at great prices but not allowed to buy it, bugger

Did Glasgow to Gatwick then Heathrow to Glasgow last week. Not asked once about testing or vaccine status by absolutely anyone at the airport. Glasgow was very quiet. Heathrow was mobbed. I went through priority security and it was the busiest I've ever seen it. Pre pandemic I flew every single week through Heathrow but last week was by far the busiest I've ever seen it. The BA lounge was rammed to capacity with a huge queue to get in.

Currently in the Isle of Man.

Liverpool airport was a joy to be in (well as good as any airport can be). We did fas track security but it looked to be fairly quick through normal security

No airport staff were wearing masks but the majority of customers were.

IoM requires proof of double jabs before entry

Is that an Easyjet flight? Couple of things to be aware of...

1. They've massively shrunk the handbaggage size - so will want £24 at the gate each way for a normal sized carry on. Someone said pre-book using their 'handsfree' service and it will be £7 each way.

2. They are strict on masks. Policy seemed to be "no exemptions" but I assume if you had a letter from a Dr or similar it might be OK. They also have a rule that masks must not be the type that have a little screw on filter on them - guy in front of me got made to find an alternative - apparently that's because some idiots have been trying to prove a point by flying with the filter removed negating the point in them just to score points!

Nobody requires a covid passport for travel in the UK. Queues were good. If going to Aberdeen bring extra sanitiser - Michael Gove was apparently out clubbing there at the weekend!!!

Ours was an easyJet flight. I carried a 25l Osprey Escapist rucksack on board.

I’m not sure how they enforce the overhead locker thing, we just put them up there no one questioned it

firestarter - no change to the rules on liquids, so max size for each item and all items must fit in a clear zip lock bag.
