With such a varied bunch of people there are on here I thought there may be a chance of some interesting responses. I’m hoping the thread doesn’t descend in to a here is my company and we do this but progresses to show unique companies who have developed revolutionary products. Feel free to post a little about why you think it is such a cool product or a bit about why a company is so revolutionary in what it does. Links and video clips etc all welcome.
Two I have as starters for you all
BioLite Stoves
Small company in Detroit Michigan, started as a Uni design project and progressed and grew into a company making a unique product to help homeless people survive in winter, the product is now made by former homeless women who have been re-employed allowing them to get off the streets.
Cheers
Rusty
Thanks for that link to the empowerment plan - love to see ideas like this actually making a difference.
The Biolite is great - no messing about with gas canisters, just chuck in whatever's lying about, light it, and wait 5 minutes.
The really clever bit is they're using the sale of the small camping stoves to fund the larger cooking ones.
Here's my nomination.

Low power computers and classrooms for African Schools.
I like the step by step problem solving approach.
@ clintthesquint,
Thanks for sharing that, i had not come across them before, that too is a very cool company.

Really? I've found it the most underwhelming piece of kit I own. Rubbish to cook on, charges gear at an absolutely glacial pace, fiddly to keep going efficiently.
Basically a bit of a pointless gadget.
another one I had forgotten about - Circuit scribe.
I'm pretty sure there was a PSA on here a while back when the kick starter was going around.
A pen that writes with conductive ink so you can draw a working circuit.
I don't know how much it has taken off over here but as soon as my daughter is old enough to appreciate it i'm getting some.
Given the number of homeless people or people without heating and how cold it is in Detroit I suspect they will be very busy at the Empowerment Plant
