My old insurance company didn't pay out on a claim I made. I ended up not renewing the policy when the time came and have been without insurance for about 6 months or so. I'm looking at quotes from other companies now and they ask for details of any old claims.

As my previous claim was unsuccessful, do I still need to let my new insurer know about it?

Thanks

Pie.

What's the wording of the question they ask? With car insurance they don't ask about claims they talk about accidents, incidents and claims so that you would have to tell them in that case. I suspect house insurance will be similar to prevent gets outs.

Sorry, I didn't specify. It was my contents insurance that I tried to claim on after my bikes were nicked. I left the window unlocked, so the claim was thrown out.

I did get one back - saw it for sale on ebay and the police recovered it for me....

I wouldn't expect that to happen again though......
