Just had a nagging phonecall from the carphone warehouse to take up their insurance. A quick search revealed largely negative reviews for their geek squad policy, plus talkcover, cusc phoneguard and orange care.

What else it out there?

On our home insurance, phones (and all other personal belongings whilst out of the house) were covered for £30 extra. Less than mobile phone insurance, covered by a reputable insurance company, and as a bonus it covers your camera, laptop or whatever else you happen to have.

Funnily enough - M&S.

OH lost her two week old iPhone 4 recently (I say 'lost,' it was on her lap charging in the car when the car in front of us shed a bike from its carrier on the Motorway; I stopped, she jumped out to move the bike, got back in and we drove off... ten minutes later, hm, where's the phone?! Oops.)

Claimed on the house contents insurance, they asked for a proof of purchase, O2 sent it across to them directly, very nice lady rang me to telling me they were crediting my account.

M&S really do rock. Hassle free insurance from people who aren't bloody crooks.
