I wonder if anyone can put a name to this stuff, retrofitted externally in 2012 to some flats near me. About 4-5" thick and then rendered over. I'm interested in a flat in the block, no documentation on the material but have some photos of the job in progress, the EPC doesn't specify. Thanks.

Looks like standard polystyrene EWI to me

The grey stuff is EPS insulation i.e Polystyrene.
The yellow band is mineral fibre insulation which provides a fire break in the system between floors.
How many storeys in the block?  If it’s over 18 m tall  (6 storeys) it should all be mineral fibre.

If I was to have a guess at what EWI system it is i’d have a stab at Structherm

Thanks again.

Just the 3 floors, and six flats per fully enclosed entrance/stairwell so not covered by tall building provisions.
