Can you install Office 2007 Professional if you have a license key for it but the DVD for the Small Business edition?
Why didn't I just try it?
Answer is no, you can't.
you can download the install pacakages though - you don't need the DVD of the version you want, just the product key when it comes to registering.
Do you not need msdn membership to do that though? ( or something like that, I can't remember exactly what the site is)
don't think so, i'm sure i went through the process of getting it from somewhere when i had a similar issue after i bought a new computer. don't think i got it from somewhere 👿 but it is possible...
I presume you'd have the same problem with Office Enterprise which I have the media for (in the form of an executable installer)? I have a download link for that, but only in the form of a direct link, so it doesn't give you a route to get the pro media.
I wanted to install it without having to download, since I am on slow broadband. I've got a download link from our intranet. Incidentally, you have to put in your own key when you want to download from MS, and my key wasn't apparently eligible for download. And my MSDN sub doesn't cover Office either.
Ah well, I'm off to read about mainframes whilst it downloads.
