Instagram auctions legitimate?

So this may have been discussed before and I can see how modern marketing can work by playing on people’s emotions but are these things legitimate?

Most recently I’ve seen a 20 year old M3 one time, then this time a VW Transporter all kitted out and 140,000 in cash or a Lambo!

I can see how the words “not many tickets have been sold” can have some scrambling to get some but can they really fund the asset amounts?

I’d be interested to know thoughts, my opinion is it likely is legitimate, they make losses on some but gains on others but also…. Do people actually win these prizes?

Are the people running these loaded or are they just modern day marketing savvy and it makes them enough to keep doing it?

I’m 42 so not young anymore, for all I know you all get tickets for that possible chance…. Who knows! 😆

Auctions? Do you mean raffles from the likes of Dream Car Giveaways? Some are certainly legit, some are certainly iffy, but bricks they are “raffles” they don’t come under all the normal gambling regs (for now at least).

What I’ve only recently noticed, is how bloomin’ many of these sites there are now!

I think that’s the key point I’ve seen too. I’ve not taken interest in a single one however on Instagram that I’m getting more and more tired of from all the rubbish…. The adverts roll around often!

That’s the ones I’m referring to yes, I did reply to this message but seems like the message has gone.

I think that’s the thing there are alot of them, will be interesting to know varied opinions. I know they’re targeted towards millions but there aren’t millions that buy tickets, so all I can think of is that they do raise enough… are they governed by tax returns etc? Assume has to be a business as such?

Bike related ones? I’m all ears now 😆 so so long as it’s not too far fetched it’s worth the measly entry fee once in a while

Yeah that one was a shocker. The guy running the competitions had ended up running it like a Ponzi scheme, so it went they way of such things.

OTOH one of the legit ones (Revcomps) handed the guy £18000 even though it wa snitching to do with them. Obviously saw it as a marketing opportunity, but still a good action

A young lad a work work won a classic 911 or cash. Silly sod took the car but didn't even have off road parking, never mind a garage. Sold it after 6 months as the insurance was crippling.
