Hello.

I am building some cupboard in my not-yet-a-camper van and I need some hinges.
.
I need the hinges to attach at the top and the doors to swing upwards.
I have some old kitchen cupboard hinges. However theses don't work.
There is another cupboard above these. For various reasons there is a 2x2" length of wood supporting the base of the top cupboards. The hinges on the lower doors attach underneath this upper cupboard. The problem with this is that they attach to the lower doors about three inches below the top, so if I try to open them there is two/two and a half inches of door trying to swing into the 2x2".
.
What I need is a hinge with some sort of linkage which pushes the doors forwards two or three inches as they swing up. My googling skills have failed me so far.
.
Any suggestions?
.
Thanks all

I’m sure you’ll find something in there. Sure I’ve used some top swing hinges that do similar to what your asking.

Thanks guys.
I couldn't see anything on the Blum site. The one in the video looked good so I emailed to check the measurements and unfortunately it doesn't come forward far enough.
.
I found these, which look perfect, except for the fact that they are £75 a pop and I need four... https://www.hafele.co.uk/en/product/parallel-lift-up-front-fitting-for-one-piece-flaps-free-up/37233510/?MasterSKU=000000db0002536d00010023
.
Keep the suggestions coming 🙂

Any good

Alternatively can you split the door and use piano hinges and a stay of some kind?

I think the hinges in that video are the same or similar to ones I fitted on a top cupboard in my van. I think it was the hafele hinges linked below. Works fine and I don't think it was too pricey. About a tenner or so IIRC.

https://www.hafele.co.uk/en/product/flap-hinge-swing-up-sprung-right-hand-or-both-sides-steel/000000fc0001517b00010023/#SearchParameter=&@QueryTerm=*&Category=b4IKAOsFs1UAAAFeR3t9OkCi&@P.FF.followSearch=10000&PageNumber=1&OriginalPageSize=12&PageSize=12&Position=8&OrigPos=298&ProductListSize=89&PDP=true

Screwfix says £7 a pair and I think locks online are cheaper still.
