Has anyone done this?
Heard some good (supposedly) unbiased reviews, but wondering if I do try it, will i be able to ride a bike still or will I be too knackered?

Thanks

I do it over January/February normally.
It's a pretty intense workout, but pretty easy - just need some space and a TV.
You either like the trainer guy or you don't, he's a bit marmite. I do.

I never finish it cos I get bored, but normally do it for 8 out of 12 weeks to keep fitness up before I get back on the bike.

The only workout it gave me was from punching the screen, trying to hit the cheeseballz who were doing the exercises.

I didn't mind Sean T, just those douche nozzles.

Depends how fit you are to start with as far as whether you can still ride.

Knackers a lot of people out and works muscle groups that you won't normally when riding the bike so you can have some side affects.

I still rode my bike when I was doing it but I only ride for leisure most of the time so could cope not being as quick up the hills as normal.

Friend does it (by doing it he gets about two weeks in) every few months.

Like most exercise, if you do it every day you will get fitter.

He likes it. They even did the before photos and to be fair even after a couple of weeks he said it was noticeable when you compared photos. Don't think he'll be getting the T-Shirt.

We do it sporadically at work, and it certainly gets the heart going. The most concerted effort we gave it was 12 weeks, and everyone (there was about 8 of us) lost weight and gained mobility/flexibility. It is very much cardio rather than strength though, and the majority of your gains/losses still depend on your diet.

Surely there are more enjoyable ways to exercise than jumping around being shouted at by your telly?

Me and her in charge use it as a workout when we want a change from running/biking/swimming However, the thought of every day for the 3 months... not for us...
For the record, someone mentioned to me at some point that there can be problems with insanity and your knees do to the nature of the exercises... And the T25 apparently was developed to combat this... No idea if its true... But the T25 is more appealing, if only as the exercised period is shorter, and the exercises are more varied...

my knees were real sore for a few months..
Cardio is insane though and flexibility..
I prefer the kettle bells as its better for the biking... imo

Thanks. Do you all rate it worthwhile doing then - I just want to lose that last annoying bit of weight/fat? Sounds like everyone thinks it works (if you do it properly).

I'm pretty fit (although only really do cycling at the moment) so hoping to do this and get a decent ride a week in over the winter, which sounds like it will be possible.

I've got a copy of P90X, never actualy watched/done it 😳

Will make a concerted effort to do it over the winter this year as in theory it should be ideal for Sailing fitness.

Dunno how similar insanity and P90X are, but P90x needs a chin up bar and resistance bands*/dumbells.

*best £9 spent on ebay and exercise gadget full stop! Enough resistance unless you're really into your lifting, takes up the same space as a rolled up pair of boxxers when not in use, and more exercises than a basic weights bench.

Just started this again now its got colder, being a tight arse cba putting the heating on just yet and an hour of this a night after work keeps you fit and gets you warm!

I really noticed a big improvement with cardio and flexibility, but I had to stop at week 7 as I had some major knee issues and was told to stop after a trip to the physio who said the same as david47 and papacruz said.

Just for the record, Insanity is 60 days long, P90x is 90 days long and T25 being around 14 weeks/98 days but then again, i'm sure mixing and matching exercises wouldn't hurt.

Have fun and don't hate Tanya too much...

The fact that it's sold by an infomercial should tell you all you need to know.

I know a few people who have tried it and like the stories above no-one has stuck with it. This says to me that it's a terrible exercise system.

I've done it, and asylum. Loads stick at it, like anything though...it gets tough.

Got p90x to give a whirl, half way through Body Combat.

I like 'em. I ride to work, run 2 or 3 times per week, teach and train karate, gym 4 or or 5 times for weights...these programmes are sometimes a nice quick fix.

Meeeh I just thought it and p90x where a bit of fad.....and a bit shouty extreme blah blah extreme...

I do like the trx system and also Stronglifts weight routine and I ride 20ish miles a day all year, I tend to cycle the weights routine and have a fair few months off it but I'm getting on a bit now 47 next month 🙁

I've I seen both and T25 is much more appealing and I think easier to stick too if you're not a big fitness fantastic!
