We've got a night in Innsbruck as part of a mate's stag. We're heading to the Alps so not the standard paintball and strippers stag, but any shouts for some decent bars and somewhere to eat please?

Stiftskeller for proper meal and beer.

Tribaun if anyone is into fancy craft beer, and you just fancy a pizza.

+1 for Tribaun, they have a great beer selection. Also a good burger place just down the road from there too but can't remember the name.

+1 for Stiftskeller, on the edge of the old town. If you like meat then on Saturday's they have schweinhaxe! And plenty of beer as is a traditional beer hall type place.

If you're up for a bit of sightseeing then take the funicular up to Hungerberg and have a beer while looking over the town - or go all the way up Nordkette in the cable car. At the mid station all the MTB guys are hanging out having just finished the downhill run. They have an ice bar and restaurant at the top with great views over the city. I wouldn't bother unless visibility is good though.

Back in town - if you are there on a Saturday, the Markthalle is great. It's an indoor market but with a load of little bars and eateries nestled in to it. Most have outdoor space too, overlooking the river.

Stiegl Brau is great - Wilhelm-Greil-Straße

Opposite that in the Landhaus Platz, there is a really cool little cafe for Breakfasts (Called Breakfast Club) and in the sidewalk next to that, some of the best burgers in town - Zum Wohl Tyrol. Doesn't look much from the outside as is very small but the burgers are great and they sell Augustiner.

Elefhaus in the old town is also good - traditional food and grog.

One of my favourites - especially if is warm enough to sit outside is Fischerhausl on Herrengasse (behind St Jakob's Cathedral). Fish restaurant and a nice place to nestle into (or outside of) and pass away the hours.

Hope that helps!

Stiftskeller ticked the boxes, great shout. Enjoyed sitting outside Marktbar watching the world go by too. Cracking city.

What's the riding like there? Seen a couple of people passing through the square on DH bikes, worth a return visit with the bike?
