Camera.
A concept piece. A few years back, when I was using online dating apps, I developed a strange fascination with how women held their phones to take selfies. My tribute:

Love ? it.
Red shoes next 😉

Dopey forum. One minute you can paste a URL to post a pic, then you can't! Ugh

29. Navigator.
terrible! I'll do the last few better 🙂

Well, that’s that done. It’s been fun, kinda. As usual I got (slightly) better as I went along but I know that come next October I’ll be back to ‘3 year old holding a crayon in its fist’ level again…
Just watched Gladiator 🙂
5 Minute pause sketch. Pencil.

Who fancies doing November 🙂
Ink, Pencil, Felts, Digital whatever.
We could dream up somes prompts or not use, up to everyone to choose.
Thoughts 🙂
I've done Violin (needed a black background, which I didn't have time for, so cropped it instead). Also no time for the last one, as too tired. Ah well. I'm sure I'll do some non Inktober arty stuff over time

I was going collage mine as well.
Must do that.
Fancy Drawvember 🙂 daily prompt or a weekly prompt?
I'll just be doing whatever inspires me over time, so don't need prompts 🙂
Got a pic of a skater I'll probably work on first.
Having with cartoons 🙂

In my mind I remember seeing something like the above in an old book. Muddy trail grabbing the wheel or was I playing Joust....

More MTB cartoons. The only way I'm ever going to do some of these moves 😉
Barends and Y Frames.

I know it's a crime to draw in books... But it's my book and I don't care ;+)

"It's time to try those new bunny hop skills"

I dun a paintin last night. My partner had a Paint n Sip session for her birthday. We all painted the same thing. It was quite funny cos the instructor type woman took it a bit too seriously. Well, apart from calling the brushes "baby brush" and "daddy brush". Here's my effort. The beer was nice anyway 🙂

NATO Poster thing.

Just saw this on the gram, mystery inktober, the artist emails participants fragments of an image which you draw, and send back, entire image revealed at end.
The local art club did this. Took a photograph and chopped it up and distribute to members. They all would draw/copy there square at the given size.
It great fun. We all ought to do one here 🙂 Anyone interested?

It's Inktober time 🙂 Can't see me doing the fraction of a drawing thing, bit odd that.

I've got a bit of catching up to do this week.....

Pleased with that last one, not so much this one but hey ho. Supposed to be Gee getting ragged on that ragged ridgeline

The day after Redbull Rampage 2025.

I have been persuaded to post some of my paintings on this thread by desperatebicycle
I have recently developed a new painting style. I was doing an exhibition with 4 other artists and they said it was important to have a consistency to your paintings in the exhibition as people seem to get confused by too much diversity. The trouble is, I get bored very easily of painting the same pictures, or at least very similar pictures, and like to switch between abstracts, landscapes, buildings etc. I settled on a geometric tessellated style that allows me to paint any subject but all recognisably the same style.
The first one I did was Stone Henge. I figured that most people would recognise it, almost regardless of how it turned out. I painted it from memory rather than a photo as I prefer not to be forced to just copy and colour. I tried to imaging how the light would hit the different faces of the stones and give different colours, the same for the field in front and the sky behind where the different shades could be sectioned into discrete areas.
I wasn't sure about the style at this point so posted a picture on FB asking for feedback. It sold the same day. This does not normally happen with £600 paintings. I took this as a positive sign regarding the style.
At the other end of the scale is 93Tx4 that appears to be an almost random pattern of colours but isn't. I shared this picture and asked what people saw. The response was (mostly) positive and people saw dinosaurs, ducks, people, all sorts of things. A few even saw the things I had actually painted.
The feedback included comments like 'an amazing painting but where the hell could you actually hang that?' or 'great, but not something I would hang in my house', or 'I wouldn't have it as a painting but do you do it as a jigsaw?'.
I guess that was a touch too far for most people.
Final posting for now, I promise.
This rendition of Corfe Castle seems to be the most popular, judging by peoples reactions. It has the bolder colours of 930Tx4 but is a recognisable landscape like Stone Henge. This seems to be the safe space for a lot of people. I have had 2 landscape commissions off the back of this painting (The Roaches, Peak District and The Clumps, Oxfordshire).
Cool. Remind me of some of the portraits I did a few years ago with the bold divisions betweens colours. Difference is I have to copy, because my brain to hand signal is interrupted somehow. Eye to hand fine... always been a source of frustration for me.
An example, Michelle Pfeiffer

Hoping to get back on Inktober track!
Slowly catching up after a manic couple of weeks.
