What's going on with visas to India? I haven't had a good trawl around the net but has anyone any idea why UK travellers have to pay £92.20 for an Indian tourist visa? Two Indian lads at work are just as peed off as they travel on tourist visas to visit family (on UK passports I presume)

I know, had a right faff a couple of years ago with photos cos I hadn't read the application properly, not passport sized are they?
Been to India four times now but it seems like they don't want UK people there anymore.

Anywhere else nice & warm/friendly/cheap/fantastic food & culture in January/February 2014?

Incidentally, it's £80 for a UK visitor visa.

The fee is probably reciprocal for what UK charges Indian citizen for tourist visas.
