[Closed] Indian supermarket in central Leeds?

Recently moved office to central Leeds and have found a couple of Oriental supermarkets but no Indian one - the only ones I can find on Google seem to be outside of walking distance. The closest I can find is Rafi's in Kirkgate Market but the choice is very limited. Does anyone know of a shop that sells more Indian base spices etc?

Cheers

Sainsbury or Asda . Sainsbury stock East End and Fudco. Asda stock Rajah and sometimes East End. Occasionally you'll find a gem at either. Fudco sweet chuundo pickle is a joy with seekh kebabs or papads.

Sainsbury or Asda.

Annoyingly there is no full sized supermarket in Leeds centre either (I do sometimes buy supplies from the likes of Asda). They are all 'Metro' type places - the closest it gets is the Sainsbury on The Headrow but it doesn't have a full supermarket stock.

Can’t think of 1 in the city center myself,
But you could ask at the Chilli shop in the Merrion Center
http://chilli-shop.co.uk/

Very friendly and helpful when I’ve called in

I didn't know the Chilli Shop existed so I will be going there sometime soon ta.

There is the Morrisons on Woodhouse Lane.

Ohh of course! I had completely forgotten about that despite always using the Merion Centre car park when driving into Leeds (which hasn't been for a while to be fair as I commute in on the train) but at least there is a big store I can go to. Ta 🙂

Appreciate you're looking for Central Leeds based places - but if you're ever passing through Bradford, stop off at The Manchester Superstore just off Battye Street.

I used to work near there and would often have a browse around at lunchtime - loads of stuff in there.

Row H in the Market has a lovely Asian fruit/veg and spice place that is actually called "Spice Corner". Been there FOREVER and still brilliant. It's also near the fabulous West Indian place mentioned above (we did goat curry a few months ago!). There are a load of great places on Harehills lane area for both meat, spices and veg, but in the centre there is not much other than the ones mentioned.

CHB - yes that's where I ended up today (looking for dried coriander leaves) and it's where I have been a few times before already. Even they had to root around to find some but I now have them ready for making a pathia this weekend 🙂

Ideally I would like a proper supermarket to browse around though - at Spice Corner you kinda need to know what you are wanting and ask for it. Never mind!
