Anyone got any recommendations or tips and things to look out for?
I'm now self-employed, but also like to get rad to the max on two wheels so don't now have the luxury of sick pay and ting.
What's good?... and by good I mean reasonably priced.
I'm with "the Exeter" friendly society. £32 a month and I get £1500 a month if I'm ill. Enough to pay the basic bills.
Have to wait a week to claim. Benefit pays out for 3 years.
It doesn't cover me for mountain biking though. They class it as an "extreme sport" even if just done recreationally. So I've also got a separate policy with a sports insurance company that pays out £350 a week if I fall off my bike and break stuff etc. That was £252 a year.
I get no sick pay so I need the cover.
