Can anyone recommend a headset for work use that is
• In Ear/Earbud
• Good mic (maybe on boom)
• Bluetooth (preference)
I don't normally get on with over-ear headsets, and prefer to have an in-ear option. I have been using a bluetooth set with cable between the earbuds and attached volume/mic section, but have found that unless I hold the mic closer to my mouth, it can come through muffled, leading me to talk louder to be heard clearly, which has led to people in office commenting on me getting "heated" in calls, which is not my intention.
The only option I have seen is the https://uk.shokz.com/products/opencomm , but I don't like the bone conductivity as in the office, I don't want to hear what is happening around me when on a call, or if I want to listen to some music while concentrating to block our noise.
Any thoughts as my google foo has failed.
Poly Voyager 5200 or Legend for around the ear - UC version if you are connecting a laptop
Poly Voyager 6200 UC for around the neck with earbuds
Like this? (Jaba and Poly also do models)
I saw those, but was looking for something dual sided if I want to block out office noise. The Poly 6200 UC almost fits the bill, but how much? And the neck ring a bit much.
What are you using the ‘phones with? Are they plugged into a 3.5mm Jack on a computer, or a phone? If a phone, is it using a Lightning port, USB-C or a 3.5mm Jack?
What rak says. My wife stole my Voyager Legend years ago, battery is starting to go so she's looking around at alternatives and really it's just the 5200 that fits what she wants.
6200 is good (Jabra and EPOS/Sennheiser do similar) if you want both ears like in noisy environments. The mics are on the ends of the neckband so fairly close to your mouth.
I find nothing much beats a good double-eared, on/over ear headset with a boom mic when it's noisy though. Having a mic close to your mouth makes a big difference. Loads to choose from these days - for work/talking go for something from here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/microsoft-teams/across-devices/devices
Creative Outlier One V2 bargains.. might keep you going for now.
Not going to be the best at that price, but they've a step up microphone wise than my original Anker set I had (where you had to do the mic holding thing). They are far from perfect, but it stopped my friends saying they can't hear me. I've found they connect automatically (ankers didn't), but don't detect my (slightly) older ipads BT, and the battery isn't as good as the Anker's but at least ppl can hear me now 😀
I am using a Soundcore Spirit Pro (I think, they are quite a few years old now). They might just be getting old and getting something new would work better in the mic.
One option might be something like this https://www.amazon.co.uk/Soundcore-Cancelling-Technology-Personalized-Bluetooth-Black/dp/B08G4K8CY8?ref_=ast_sto_dp&th=1
Most people I work with just use AirPods for Teams calls (I prefer an over-ear headset though), one guy mentioned they always start full volume on calls but don't seem to have any other issues (this is with them connected to a Windows laptop).
