The humble Henry Hoover.
Don't know where I'd be without it at work but if it had a clip in metal pipe so it didn't keep falling off the hose, and two lockable wheels to stop it sliding around in my van then IMO it would be perfect.
What's great... but could be even better?

The humble Henry Hoover.

It's made by Numatic, not Hoover.

Pretty happy with my numatic shop vac but it could be improved with a longer hose. Turns out you can buy longer hoses really cheaply and the haven't changed the fitting so a new Henry one fits my ancient shop one.

It's not the length of your hose that counts, it's what you do with it that matters

😉

I hate the Henry we have. Weighs a bloody ton, the metal tubes keep falling apart, conversely I can never get the plastic floor bit off the metal pipe, the plastic tube keeps coming off the top of the metal tube, it seems to whump into everything and get stuck despite being round, it's terrible to store with no way to stow the tool.
Hate it.

So, to improve it, I would blow it up with an atomic bomb then stamp on the remains for an hour and then wazz on the remains to finish the job 👍

I’m reliably informed that the only way to be sure is to drop it from orbit. (The bomb, not the vac. Obvs)

My Henry could be improved by having another clip on the side for the accessories (one can improvise by wedging the round brushy thing onto the long slim 'ubersucking' thing and clipping the whole lot to Henry, but it's easy to knock the tower of accessories off).

It'd be nice if it did more of a job of the actual "sucking up dirt and dust" bit too, if I'm honest.

Other than that it's close to perfect.

You can make anything better by putting bacon on it.

A bike ride with a cold beer in the backpack for the top of the hills.
Did that today in fact. Planning a ride that dint have the return leg into the headwind would have been better.

Chorizo

I'm going to go out on a limb and suggest that using bacon, cheese, custard and chorizo together will not make something four times better.

Well that's settled it.
All I have to do with my Henry to improve it, is wrap it in bacon, smother it in cheese and dunk it in custard.
Who'd have thought it could be that simple?

on the cheese subject, i recently realised why a sandwich made with toasted cheese is so good. there is twice the cheese.

and we recently had friends round. my wife baked a camembert my friend (who is very creative by nature) was using chunks of cheddar to dunk in the cheesy goo.

just so you know i wouldn’t flout covid rules. we don’t live in the uk, we were following local protocols and we are fortunate to have no active cases at the moment.

Couldn't really make it much worse, to be fair. At least you'd have a two-course snack to occupy yourself whilst it was failing to remove dirt from the floor.

The weather where I live.

It's too hot.

Ideally it would always have rained yesterday. Just enough. And be about 5 degrees cooler most days.
