Sorry, but important for those that don't know. Only takes a few minutes but could be really important if you are worried about someone at very high risk. Only take a matter of minutes to complete.

Is this related to the 1.5 million people with severe medical conditions who should be getting a letter some time this week telling them they MUST, under all circumstances, remain isolated until June?

Yes, it's for those on that list that will need help from Army etc. because they live alone and have no-one to care for them.

Cheers, the info page said it went live as of tomorrow so i was waiting but I've gone and filled it in now. Hopefully won't need their help with friends delivering anything I need food wise.

Oh and @welshfarmer its not a MUST it's a SHOULD as its a choice whether to adhere to it or not and you are isolated living with the people you normally live, just stay 3 steps away from them because apparently that's safe enough.

What does this gain?
NHS/consultant/GP already know about mrs_oab, we know and are doing our best isolation. We've a 'golden letter' explaining her condition to any unsuspecting doctor/paramedic/nurse already as well.

Thanks for putting this up, put in an application. Dunno if it'll be accepted as I don't know how vulnerable I am but may be covered under immunosuppression due to therapy. I don't understand white blood cell and lymphocyte counts well enough to know at what point it becomes an issue... Going to continue to self isolate regardless though!

@chvck have you received any comms via text or post to inform you of whether you're considered extremely at risk? From what I've gathered from myself and others we've all had a text message at the very least but having said that I didn't check my post today as there seemed little point. The Dr also rang me about a prescription I needed and said oh you're 'one of those' people. I have read that there's going to be a possible second wave of comms if you've not had anything yet.

Not sure how vulnerable you need to be to get this aid but my 77 year old Dad didn’t qualify. He lives on his own in a remote(ish) area 100 miles from relatives, has had cancer and a heart attack, is diabetic, has angina and can only shuffle about 10 yards. But that is clearly not enough!! He certainly fits the bill for those recommended to isolate for 12 weeks but no state help at all. He wasn’t signed up for online shopping and really struggling to get slots for that. Not impressed by lack of Government support for the elderly who have been told to isolate. Not after much, just some priority for food delivery and delivery of prescriptions.

ginkster. I agree, my 90 year old mum does not qualify but that goodness im her full time carer.

There are many older people that are not as lucky. It's pretty crap.

There are Covid 19 help groups for most areas on the dreaded Facebook that are full of people volunteering to help the vulnerable that you might want to search for.

Not Scotland, though Im sure they have something similar being rolled out.

I have to admit to being frightened of this, and consider myself in this at risk group. From 5 years of homelessness sleeping out led to a case of mild hypothermia and 2 of pneumonia, all of which left their marks. And a hereditary chest condition leaving me open to infections.
Smoker, vascular problems, too much unfiltered wod dust in the latter years. All in al should i get it, I feel that is it for me.

I'm sure many here are just as worried.

Worst thing about it all is despite years of pestering, the rest of the family aren't into bikes, neither riding, or ocd collecting of large collections of otherwise useless stuff 😆
So if i dont make it, i worry they'll just give it all away to one of these evil charity bike projects to adorn the staff bikers because we all know the buggers get all the good stuff.
And none of them have any artistic flair, so I wonder what will become of my joinery workshop and equipment 😯

Sorry 😳 this has been building and theres no other outlet. Sorry if it reinforces others fears.

Fucxking news programs. I'll be on to the Samaritans shortly.

I thought I had posted this earlier, but it seems to have been lost somehow (probably user error)

Sainsbury's are stating online and on the phone that they will be giving priority to online shoppers who have successfully registered as Vulnerable on the .gov.uk website. They are currently waiting for the list to be supplied by the government and will then act.

Hope it helps some.

Thanks Supernova. Will have a look. Unfortunately the Old Man is not Facebook savvy so I will have to do from afar. Just wish there was more structured and simple support for the seniors.
