You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
I recently ordered some items from America and from a company I have ordered from several times before.
usually when the goods reach customs in UK I get a text and email from FedEx requesting I pay the tax straight away or offering that I can pay the FedEx driver on delivery. I always pays before delivery.
However, on my recent order I got no such request and the delivery was made. A few days later I got a text asking for payment otherwise my delivery may be delayed - it has already been delivered.
is this a scam or some sort of delayed request? Should I pay or give FedEx a call. A call will be painful as it’s difficult;t to get through to a human from memory
Quite possibly a well timed scam - I'd expect genuine texts have some specific details about the delivery eg a tracking number, does the latest one? Can you check the FedEx tracking for the package you've received as I'd expect that to flag any payments due as well. I wouldn't pay until I was 100% certain it was legit.
It does have the FedEx tracking number and when I click on it I get a photograph of the parcel being handed to my wife - could be legit?
I have called two different FedEx phone numbers but get an Ai conversation and when I ask to speak to someone I get “I can only pass account holders to customer services, please check our website”
it has already been delivered....

Just ignore them then, you've got your stuff. **** 'em. What are they gonna do, sue you for pocket change? Even if they tried, you could settle up then, before it goes to court, on grounds they made it too difficult to get clarifcation any other way.

You are Nessa from Gavin & Stacey, and ICMFP 😁
I was wondering why I didn't get stung for taxes when I bought something from Italy, then I checked the value that the supplier had put on the declaration 🤣

I can’t remember exact details ,as it been a while since I received one 🙂 but I think they send you a letter threatening to hand it over to a collection agency and you get extra costs added if you don’t settle promptly.
FedEx have already paid the duties and tax on your behalf so you got your delivery without the delay.
But the timing of spam emails and texts around the parcels is tricky.
I expect that if you go thru the tracking on their website you may get more info , but they all seem to be using ai chatbots which can transfer to a live chat person so you could confirm that it’s not a scam
but if they msgd you a link with pics of your wife with the parcel and and a link to a proper fedex site and it’s what your expecting to pay then it’s probably legit 🙂
