In this video they do a technique where the video moves forward but multiple stills are captured, (or something along those lines) around 1:36 in the video is an example

Basically, how do you do this and what is it called?

On a different note, does anyone have any good song ideas for a skiing video I will be making early next year, all I have is Led Zeppelin's Immigrant Song, which is good but doubt it'll work well

I reckon I've used most of iMovie and that effect isn't an option. The learning FCP X now. Sorry to be of no help at all.

Don't think you can do this in any version of iMovie I've used - there might be a plugin that will let you do it. I have used some third party effects plugins with iMovie in the past, but you had to buy them.

You will need a plug in. Unlikely to exist for imovie.

Motion and adobe after effects can do stuff like this but you need premiere or FC.
