Just had my Macbook open next to my iMac...

...moved my mouse on iMac and the cursor moved over to Macbook screen - never knew it could do this!! 😱 😱 😱

Display setting haven't been changed.

Stunned! Only had Macs for three decades! 🤣

I think it's fairly recent... can do the same with iPad/iPhone as well I think

can also use an iPhone as a webcam which is handy for Minis etc where you don't necessarily have one built in, plus you can use the wide-angle lens to do "centre stage" (their version of the FB portal thing where it tracks you around the room) which is neat

the level of integration between Macs/phone/watch these days is pretty cool and lets you do some handy stuff (assuming you are full-on apple everything!)

As a household thats always been entirely Mac-based, Mrs Binners has just been given an Android work phone. Its viewed as the technological equivalent of a ginger stepchild.

I found today if you save a document from and email, Finder sticks an email icon next to it when you search/list directories. Tap that and it takes you back to the source email (if you haven't deleted it).
Brilliant.
I had my macbook air mouse on my two screen desktop and desktop mouse on air. It was very confusing 😉

This is ace, I was just moaning about the poor quality of the camera on my old Macbook, this will sort it.

I'm also looking into whether I can use my iphone as touchpad when working, it would be more ergonomic having touchpad to the side of my keyboard. Apple are great at this sort of stuff.

The mouse setting is controlled by hand-off in settings and the camera thing requires phone and mac to be on the same iCloud account. The phone can also be a webcam for AppleTV to allow Facetime on the big screen in 4K!

I recently stunned my wife (who works in IT) by nonchalantly copying text on my iPhone and pasting it on my MacBook - as I recall, the exact words were “what witchcraft is this?”

I set this up this weekend - its awesome.  The camera adjusts depending on where you are sitting, who's taking etc. Would have been great during lockdown.

The ability to touch and hold an object in a photo, lift it out of the photo and paste it into another file makes me weep, for the many hours spent doing that in Photoshop, especially where hair is concerned!

Also being able to identify plants, and now animals as well, directly within a photo. The new Portrait function, which allows depth of field adjustment within a photo is also pretty impressive.

for the double witchcraft-whammy take a photo of a handwritten note on your iPhone and then copy-and-paste that to your MBP 😂

Yeah, had forgotten about that. Just tried it out, extremely cool!

You own an AppleTV and you own an iPhone/iPad to use as the camera. To quote the cliche; it does just work (and it's very cool)

has to be an Apple TV 4K but - annoyingly - anything other than a gen 1 (which is what I've got 🙄). Assuming you have gen 2+ then your recent-ish iOS 17 phone just has to be on the same wifi network, launch FaceTime app on the ATV

Following on from @zilog6128 comment you'll need to accept the request on the phone and then turn it to landscape orientation.
The TV background stays green after the call ends until the camera is disconnected from AppleTV.

Centrestage can induce motion sickness in the other end if it's turned off and on regularly.

I also need three hands with seven fingers each to be able to hit all those shortcuts.
