You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
I reckon it would do ok too, plenty of 'really busy people with hectic lifestyles' to make a few bob from.
Plan of attack is to get some popular recipes together & advertise them online but also SUPPLY THE INGREDIENTS!
I wouldn't even have to lay any money out cos all I'd do is wait till someone orders (& pays for) a recipe, then pop round Morrisons (250 yards away) then send the recipe & ingredients off to the buyer.
How could that not work?
💡
Well your lad is in logistics isn't he?
Whats your digital marketing budget?
As the online world goes, you either think of it or do it better than the other guy. Which is it?
Gotta think of a catchy name for your new venture!

Bloody hell Mike, I'd forgotten about that! I'll get him involved on the delivery side!
This time next year Mike, we'll be millionaires! (not you, me & my lad) 😉
It's OK, next up I'm going to come up with a way of getting you the tv shows you want when you want them

Essels Eats?
Gruntfuttock Foods surely.
something catchy like "Morrison's Home Delivery"...... ?
Futtock’s Teamakes
“Morrison’s Home Delivery”…… ?
You would have to have it run by undercover Ocado staff and drivers for it to be authentic.
something catchy like “Morrison’s Home Delivery”…… ?
Hardly, that would defeat the object & people would realise they can order online & get stuff delivered.
Oh wait....DOH!
I'm up for it, feeling a bit peckish and lazy. What have you got in mind? Paypal gift okay?
I'm wondering if ‘really busy people with hectic lifestyles’ have the time to cook from scratch with raw ingredients. Perhaps you could offer additional "upgrades" for an extra fee... I can't think of anything, other than options such as having ingredients repackaged into the correct quantities for the recipe, or have the food partially prepared (eg some ingredients mixed together).
You should call it Greetings Not Stale or something like that.

'Porridge'
your strap line could be 'food for shut-ins'

Doesn't this already exist?
Gousto, Hello Fresh, Simply Cook etc..
Some Italian chap round our way does home delivery of grilled cheese on flatbread. You can choose other toppings such as bacon, ham etc. Very convenient to have cooked food delivered even though I already have the ingredients handy and have mastered the cheese grilling technique.

He delivers cheese on toast... good concept... could catch on.

I reckon there's still space in the market for someone specialising in recipe boxes for singles and same day/next day orders

The problem is running a website, running the back end, creating the content (recipes), paying the delivery drivers etc etc all costs money which then goes on top of the price of your final product.
Even busy people with hectic lives have an upper limit on what they'll pay extra on top.
You'd either need a metric shitton of capital to quickly scale your marketing and customer base in probably one of the most crowded sectors (think 5 million plus, even that might be conservative) to the point of critical mass to stay a float, or you'd have to figure a way to do it with what little profit you get on each order and scale incredibly slowly and probably very manually. (Think manually taking and processing orders, no fancy website here unless you're a developer & designer yourself (could be one, unlikely to be both!))
There is probably a small space for 'Mom and Pop' style 'homegrown/grassroots' delivery service that services a small area e.g: concentrated offices, you do their shop whilst they are at work and you bring it to them ready to take home at the end of their day - but how much are people willing to pay for that service when Tesco will deliver for £3.
All in all, I'm out.
Will you be doing ethnic food?
But I buy a 300kg sack of rice for tuppence - which lasts me a whole year, and I supplement that with roots and leaves I gather from the garden FOR FREE. What possible use is your proposed service? Pah!
Sunday roast home delivery, that’s what I want, and proper good quality stuff, not stuff that should be seen at a ‘carvery’

is he called Don Ino, or something like that ?
Yep, that's the fellow.
