He goes into my local, dressed as himself IYSWIM. I always assumed superstars adopted some kind of disguise when they were out and about but I guess he doesn't mind being spotted/recognised/bothered.

I guess him and Joe Cocker are both gonna live forever.

Look at the state of that hand. The hand that is responsible for some of the best guitar playing ever heard. Amazing.

He’s a smart junkie, always bought the best (it’s sometimes the cutting agents that harm as much as the drug) and was never greedy with it - or so he said anyway.

It’s still a wonder though, he have up the smack in the 70s But was still taking coke 10 years ago until he fell out off a tree off his nut.

He strikes me as a man who could go on a 4 day bender and emerge right as rain, but be killed by chocking on a bowl of all bran.

Yeah, I can imagine there are people who rate some ****y heavy mental twiddler over Richards, but to me, guitar playing is about the music you make. The riffs, the noises. And that's the hand that played on Sympathy for the Devil and Gimme Shelter....

I was 'introduced' to Nels Cline from someone off this forum.
Class act & I rate Chris Rea ahead of Richards. Matter of taste though, like whisky & wine. & cucumber, I hate cucumber.

Well, there's someone I wouldn't bother discussing music with.

Who is he?

There's another.

As I said, 'matter of taste'. 🙂

Dave Gilmour as well. But no doubt he's not your taste either. 😉

DezB is right. There is much more to music than masses of notes.

Ahh **** it, your right, Rea must be shit cos all you experts say so. 😉

No idea how he's done as well!

Remember what I said about whisky, & that some people slag off certain types cos they don't like them?

That.

Nothing short of a miracle really. I hope he lives to 100 and gets a Telegram from the Queen to boot, just to put all those clean living types in their place 🙂

Love his quote . Give me any guitar and I'll make it sound like me . Don't know where he sits in the list of guitar heroes but Jagger and Richards are undoubted rock and roll legends .

Richards is not a lead guitarist, though, and he’s never claimed to be. He’s good, but in the sense he holds the songs together, and like Ringo, isn’t flashy and has no need to be.
What he undoubtedly is, though, is a bonafide Rock Star!

When the apocalypse comes, as it surely will, only three things will survive.

Out of the dust will come Keith Richards, driving a Mercedes W123, with a cockroach in the passenger seat.

mostly through ****ing about with the tuning... 😆

When I tried to learn (what sound like pretty easy songs) that Keith plays, you soon realise that he's messing with your head, If anything what he does with alternate tunings is something approaching a work of genius.

I think you're confusing me with another poster. One who, like, lectures. Quite obviously not me, but you know, big long posts about music things. Not me mate, but he may have posted something on the previous page..
