Stop accusing me of having one and blocking access to the site. This is a completely fresh install of Microsoft Edge with no extensions. I've had to use my phone to write this post.

Considering this place is funded by members I often get the impression that we're just an inconvenience to the whole ad-serving operation. And frankly I think that anyone who pays to visit should be able to browse using whatever variety of advertising condom that they choose.

It needs fixing asap. I'm also having to use my phone as the only means of accessing the site. With my old eyes that gets to be a PITA very quick, so I probably won't bother coming on here 'til it's fixed.

I took a break when the posting delay was at it's worst too. I know Mark and the guys have their hands full playing whack a mole, and I'm trying to have patience, but it's a finite resource.

Whilst taking enforced breaks, I'm starting to get used to not using the site. If they continue, I can see me saying "**** it, life is too short I just cba anymore". I do fear your subscriber numbers are going to take a real dive if the site doesn't become stable and usable soon

As full members (who shouldn't be getting ads anyway) we should be free to use adblockers to make the site more accessible/usable.

I will be ending my subscription and leaving the site if it continues.

Using Brave on W11 I managed to log on and then got the popup and can go no further. Posting this on an iPad. Having just had the email saying my subscription is going up I’m also tempted to just jack it in.

Edit - oh great, just had the popup and black screen on the iPad. Stock iPadOS and Safari.

In my case, goodwill is becoming goodwon't as regards subscription.

Just been hit by this as well. Not got a blocker and my feed is usually plastered in ads. (unusually relevant ones).

I've also considered cancelling my subs, the forum is constantly buggy, never used to see the issues others did but the slowload and post times have been a real PITA to the point it puts me off posting. I've seen a drop I the number of posts thatlook interesting, probably because people aren't starting topics as much. I also used to liked the political threads, yes I know shoot me now, I learned alot and probably moved leftwards I  my political outlook but I just can't be bothered with post bombing by a handful of well known posters and the seeming lack of moderation(although I appreciate that is done rather sensitively here so we don't often see it in action but doesnt mean it isnt happening).

I assume the latest issue is on PC as I'm not seeing it on Chrome on Android this morning.

That seems to be the case. I simply can't access the site via Windows.

That Adblocker pop up also suggests that the minimum subscription is £48 pa.

Price increase incoming?

Ironically it only appeared for me when I replied on here, it disappeared after a few seconds and so far hasn’t returned.

I am on a laptop with Windows 10 running Firefox and and an adblocker.  Running OK. Getting ads for Saracen and Orbea. As they are not popups and I can scoll past them that's fine.  I am not the target market anyway. My last bike purchase was about a decade ago and I have no plans to upgrade my 9 speed stable.

Pity posting pics is harder than any other forum I use.

Edit - this post only took 10 seconds to load as well.

Sorry everyone. It’s gone now. That shouldn’t have happened.

Yep, I had an email yesterday announcing this. With the recent/current forum issues, the timing could have been better tbh 😕

I had it once (Chrome on Windows), it disappeared when I refreshed the page. Ironically, it did block the ads along with the rest of the page.

Looks like a Print+ subscription is £49 a year and a Digital subscription is £29 a year or so it says on the Subscribe page that appears as a menu option if you aren't logged in.

Yep after being with you since day 1 I'm finding less reasons to subscribe and the latest increase will probably be the tipping point for me unfortunately. £5 off merchandise won't swing it either.

@oldfart There is an option in my subs preferences to renew early at the current price, saving me £4 on the digital sub.

@Sandwich tbf it's been on my mind for a while, I might try just digital, it's not only the new forum it's the clutter of magazines ( I've still got every single one!) and I'm finding less of interest in the mag these days , maybe it's just me?

£29/year is £2.40/month or 8p/day.

By way of comparison, I subscribe to (print) SFX magazine.  That's £75/year, the newcustomersonly offer price is £50 the same as Singletrack.  It's £60 for the digital-only version, neither of which comes with a forum where people can complain without censorship about how shit they think everything is.  And I'm fairly sure that Future Publishing will be able to afford having more than 1.5 developers on the case.

I kinda get it, and by turns I kinda don't.  The forum is lumpy for sure and that's frustrating, but it's in the middle of a massive change and Mark has said from the outset that this will take time to get right.  There's a glitch and 17 separate threads appear in seconds reacting like someone just ate their first born.  On this very thread Mark has said "yeah, I was tired and ****ed it up, sorry."

@Cougar that read more like a "what does this button do" thing. A course of action that I am more than familiar with 🙂

Followed by rowing back frantically to put it all right again! You'd think that a person in their 60's would know better!!

I haven't bought SFX since they unceremoniously disappeared their forum.  In fact, I probably hadn't bought it for some time before that either despite being a subscriber for many years.

I actually thought the magazine would be gone before too long after they ditched the forum so it always surprises me to see it still on the shelves.  Who knows, perhaps there's a lesson there for STW.

SFX? I remember buying the first issue. I think it introduced me to Iain Banks.
