Next Friday (17th Aug '18) I'm moving to a house just along the road (literally) from Black Mountains Cycle Centre just north of Abergavenny from Poole, in Dorset.
Coming from one of the largest MTB clubs in the country, I'm eager to get involved with groups of riders in the area and learn my way around. I'm capable on really tech stuff, pretty fit, love bike park stuff but also adore decent natural riding. I'm also a pretty normal person who gets on with more or less everyone.
Is there a form of MTB 'club' in the area or a bunch of mountain bikers who would welcome a southerner along for regular rides?
Cheers all
Send me a PM. I live about 4 miles from BMCC and have to pass it to go anywhere. I ride regularly with a group of local MTBers all over the local area. We are out every Wednesday evening and most weekends. You are more than welcome to come along. Plenty of tech stuff, mountains in summer, other options in winter. Only problem may be that we already have a Dibley in our group 🙂
Another Dibley!?!?! That's impossible...this could get interesting. Next you'll tell me his name is Tom or Thomas. PM coming over, thank you Welsh.
No...One Dibley is more than enough. You are however, slowly getting closer to the Peak District.
You're OK, our Dibley is actually a Jones! Look forward to riding with you soon mate. Have a good move.
You'll have some cycling royalty for company down Abergavenny way - both Jack Thurston (Lost Lanes) and Rob Penn (It's all about the bike etc) are down there.
I'd be more than happy to introduce you my clan and show you some great natural stuff around our neck of the woods- around 45mins from Aber G in the Forest of Dean.
Drop me a message on here or via my email address in profile.
Edit: I'm also keen to come and ride bmcc anytime too, I love that place!
Dave.

🙂 Rob rides with us now and then (when he isn't jetting off around the world somewhere). You and him will be practically neighbours bikedibley. Little known fact... it was Rob who sowed the seed for the BMCC. Check out how it all started below (from about 27 minutes on)
Pop in to gateway cycle's and meet up with them. Steve stokes is a good rider and knows all the local stuff
