You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
Yesterday I completed 18 months as a VSO volunteer in Awassa, Southern Ethiopia.
It's been an interesting and challenging experience.
Today, I begin my journey home...
It's been over 15 months since I last went back to the UK- I am really looking forward to catching up with friends, and getting out on my bike again!
🙂
A very tired and emotional Paul
Good effort. Have a safe journey home!
Well done......and you might even catch a bit of summer if you're lucky but I think rain might make a welcome change 🙂
Awesome, welcome back (nearly) 🙂
Fish and chips.?
Sounds good 🙂
I'm leaving Germany for home tomorrow afternoon, 1400 CEST, and I am very relieved to be doing so. Not quite as much as you though I'm sure.
Well done! Must have been an amazing experience.
What did you do out there? And what where the highlights and challenges?
I'm thinking of doing it in a few years - family commitments holding me back at the moment - and I was at a leaving do for someone I know through work who is off to do VSO in Guyana next month.
Well done Paul! See you next week I expect!
I've got your Hope lights somewhere...
Well done to you.
I hope you don't get home to find you left the oven on.
Well done. Have a good journey home and I hope you don't have too much hassle re-adjusting to the UK.
awesome good lad, safe travelling Paul 😀
Thank's everyone!
Now in Addis for a few days- all that's left to now is to get my police clearance from CSI Ethiopia, sort out my exit visa, and my VSO exit interview.
Philby- I've been assisting a teacher training college installing a network.
Highlights- Getting engaged! I will be marrying another volunteer, Joanne next July.
The other big highlight was completing the network! It's not common that you get to complete the task you are bought in for as a volunteer.
Challenges- Ethiopian red tape- its infuriating. Hassle- its tough being one of the only white people in town sometimes...
Tim- Hopefully, but I've just found out I've got an interview in Peebles on the 10th!
Thanks again!
Paul
great effort if only more young people would follow your iniative at home and overseas. great example to set.
