Most of me has returned from the mind numbing Adventure Racing World Champs - we finished the 800km ish course in a shade over 8 days non stop. Not a lot of sleep in there either. Very hard and my retirement race, I've had enough of pushing my bike downhill or across sand dunes chasing controls. Anyway a few people knew i was off doing this and asked me to report back - it was the hardest race i've done out of 7 expedition races and I think I've had enough. I have now recovered my lost Tallboy (thanks Virgin, great service not - left sitting in Wellington airport for a day until my wife spotted it randomly and took it !!) and once i have replaced everything on it (new XTR drivetrain destroyed...) I will be out riding for fun. Adventure racing, just say no. 😀
Nice one, AWRC2010 wrecked my mrs' new anthem (and her) pretty effectively last year, and it's pretty dry in spain!
