@DerekStarship will be on it next year because he once stood next to Roger Moore at the urinals.
He’s worth more to them in publicity

Sure? They are reporting the loss of over 3m viewers directly related to a Farage boycott. I’ve no idea how that works in TV revenues etc though….

Maybe it's like the scam emails with the deliberate spelling mistakes to sift out most people and leave them with only the gullible to deal with. If the Farage effect is you are left with only the absolute full on gullible dribblers watching you can tune your advertising accordingly to a particular 'base'.
Approaching the end of page 2 and not a single mention of anyone else who’s in the show this year.
Fred for PM
Has to be one of the nicest guys there is, even if he’s old enough to be Ella’s dad
Her name is Nella.
For some people reference to deceased love one is a very sensitive thing, as in the potential insinuation that you should do as your told because “I’m old enough to be your dad” . Now, she handled it badly and should have warned him / let him know she found it offensive before the snub I’d agree.

Remember - in general - the generation we are dealing with here, one of entitlement. She believes rightly or wrongly she’s able to act and be treated like the adult she is, and within her right to be offended and walk away / ignore Fred. Most of us -ahem- 51yo’s would likely have treated it differently. There’s a cultural and generational clash going on right there, which is going to take some major understanding to bridge especially under the stresses and emotions they are exposed to.
Her name is Nella.
Ah! My mistake well Apple is it keeps changing it to Ella.
Yes, I’m happy to accept it’s very sensitive. My wife still gets very upset over the loss of her dad who passed away 17 years ago next week. Nella will be trying to adjust to camp, being away from friends and those around her, plus she my have other issues we were not aware of.
Fred though meant no malice and tried to apologise in a very sensitive way. Explaining he meant no offence and it’s general term used by many.
Remember – in general – the generation we are dealing with here, one of entitlement
Yeah that’s bollocks.
Yeah that’s bollocks.

It isn’t, it’s real. This Gen have a lot of a growing up to do / experience / learning to realise - as we do - that life isn’t as easy as they think it is, and they aren’t entitled to whatever it they want. It’s been too easy for them to make / experience / fantasise over other peoples digital £millions. One day reality will hit / Pride comes before a fall etc…. Those of us who know educate our kids appropriately - Fred’s own daughter is a great example.
Fwiw for clarity I quite like Nella (I’ve watched her elsewhere) so this isn’t personal but she doesn’t know / thinks the abject dismissal of Fred wont bite her in the future as a TV presenter she is, whereas me and you would probably value the relationship ( and the shared experience of the group) with Fred for life and shared experience reasons not only career reasons and taken steps to mitigate our emotions
This Gen have a lot of a growing up to do / experience / learning to realise – as we do – that life isn’t as easy as they think it is, and they aren’t entitled to whatever it they want.
Not just this gen. I once saw a man who was easily 60+ try to fight a comedian because he made a joke about John Lennon's death. The man ripped open his jacket to reveal The Beatles t-shirt he was wearing and tried to rush the stage and attack the comedian before security huckled him out.

You’re talking of very few people and it’s people not the generation. There’s as many entitled in my generation as there’s who think they owed something. Seem to think that they owed from younger generation and demand respect instead of earning it.
I’ve never seen her before because she’s on YouTube so no idea what she is like, but she’s not a TV presenter just another ‘influencer’ from what I gather.
The issue is the very nature of “celebrity”.
Other than Farage I had no idea who any of these people were. In retrospect I recognise Grace Dent but couldn’t name her, and the others… not a clue.
My teenage kids knew not a single one of them.
As my lad said yesterday “Where are the comedians and sports stars?” Last year we had Chris Moyle, Jill Scott, Boy George, Mike Tindall etc. This year we have a divisive politician trying (and failing) to change his public persona and a load of people who you wouldn’t notice if you were stood behind them at the checkout in Tesco.
When Boy George, Katie Price or Nigel Benn had a Diva moment you got it. When someone who is famous for talking about famous people does you think “Who the hell are you?” .
I've not watched I'm a celebrity in years and with NF in there this year I'm even less likely to start watching it again, but I'm quite likely to bet £20 on him winning as a sure thing - it'll be the minority right that will carry on watching and will take a higher proportion of 'votes' especially as the other 'celebrity' campers are less well known.
The papers are reporting that viewing figures have dropped by over 20% for the opening show with itv holding 'emergency' meetings.
My kids know who Fred is, Farage, her from master chef and Sam is it?
Me less so with some but in previous years my kids haven’t always known them. Just because we don’t recognise them doesn’t mean no one does.

We still have the ‘shock’ contestants to enter the camp.
It's been noted already but I'm finding it interesting that Farage is so utterly boring.
This is allegedly his springboard back into politics (did he ever really leave it?) but I'm not so sure it's working out as intended.
As long as he isn't voted into many/any trials he hasn't got anything to offer. We all know his thoughts on Brexit and other than that he's just a smelly old pair of worn out slippers. He also hasn't got anyone to bounce anti woke BS off, as he has on GBN. I'm hoping that being so upfront about wanting the trials to "reach his people" will prevent him getting voted to do them.
I'm fine with that.
Staggered people watch this fake drivel. And then discuss it as if its some sort of reality and not completely staged. Thicker than mince. Oh and Ant & Dec - Two of the most odious ****s ever to be on tv.
General consensus in the office (including staff her age), is Nella is an ar$e.

You don’t watch but some how you seem to be an expert on it.
You don’t watch but some how you seem to be an expert on it.
I'm generally quite bad at keeping track of usernames. Someone on STW (I don't remember who, QED) once accused me of having a vendetta against them, I'd never heard of them before. As a moderator I had to keep notes to catch returning banned.
But now and again I read something which gives me pause, track back up to check the name and think "ah yeah, you again; I probably could have guessed that."
Not just this gen. I once saw a man who was easily 60+
I wince whenever someone complains about "this generation." At least the term "bloody millennials" is falling out of favour as gammons are slowly working out that millennials are in their 40s now.
It's not a new phenomenon. My gran used to say to me, "you don't know you're born!" because we had a third TV channel or an indoor toilet or something. I'd wager her grandparents told her much the same. The old like to rag on the young, it was ever thus. I suspect it's rooted in jealousy.
I’m hoping that being so upfront about wanting the trials to “reach his people” will prevent him getting voted to do them.
Do we suppose that he (/his PR advisor) is actually clever enough to be hoping exactly the same thing? I'm firmly in camp Torture The Bastard.
Do we suppose that he (/his PR advisor) is actually clever enough to be hoping exactly the same thing?
Given that he said that he was actively hoping to be selected for the torture as that would guarantee him 25% of the airtime on that days show then yes, we do have to suppose that they are that clever and cynical
I don't suppose torture would entail having to enter SAS are you tough enough and then have to do the beasting against each of the staff bareknuckle for half an each each in succession....??
Then I won't be watching that absolute oxygen thief ... why anyone would want to give that excuse any air time is totally beyond me..
They've got to have a pantomime villain, he's a marmite 'Celeb' and not a KF so fits the bill.
but she’s not a TV presenter just another ‘influencer’ from what I gather.

Fwiw she co- presents the Uk version of Catfish. Yes, I know 😂
Never heard of that so that’ll be why. Cheers though.

Most people that watch it know exactly what it is. Many also watch it because others in the house wish to even if it wouldn't be their first choice. I'm in that boat.
All that being said, do you wish to let us all know what films, TV shows, books etc you read so we might judge your intellect too? Based upon the most cursory of information?
Most people need a little escapism in life, what it actually is varies but as long as it does no harm to others im not inclined to judge them. I'm sure many would think that riding a bike or posting on a biking forum is below them?
What are your thoughts on that? To reply you will need to post on a biking forum... but I'm not judging.
It's on for a few weeks a year, the weather is usually crap, I'm usually doing something, and it's OK for light entertainment without thinking about it, or even watching it - you can carry on doing stuff whilst it's on. Brain out entertainment, and you sort of get an insight into some of these 'celebs' that you've never heard of. I only know of three, Fred, the Holly Oaks guy (is he still doing that programme although haven't watched it since it started) and 'that' man Nigel.
No idea who the rest are, but the 'entitled' ones soon show themselves up.
Anyway… now we’ve all taken on board the criticism of us from someone clearly superior…
Mrs influencer (who I’d never heard of before) can’t be that switched in about influencing when she’s broken the first rule of reality TV … try not to be a total *
Also: choose your battles. If you are going to be a total *, try not to direct your obnoxiousness towards someone who’s clearly a lovely bloke who’s got national treasure status
You can’t really put it down to editing, when it’s just obvious that she’s a vile, entitled diva.
when it’s just obvious that she’s a vile, entitled diva.
Thats a bit strong IMO binners, you could try to be a bit kinder. She isn't that bad, and I suspect there has been some editing. She does say it how it is, and I suspect isn't Freds intellectual or mature equal but she's a decent girl underneath the unfiltered 'yoot.
Nah. The outburst she had at Fred was unedited and displayed a real degree of malice and nastiness. She called him stupid and a weirdo when he hadn’t actually done anything wrong
Showed her true colours. Nasty, self-absorbed and entitled.
She also referred to Farage as ‘a cool guy’
This Gen have a lot of a growing up to do
Ok boomer.
Nella is holding the toad to account better than many
Nella has just redeemed herself.
NF is still using the NF rhetoric.
Where you there binners? Your opinion is based on some snippets of TV designed to keep people attracted to it, have a think about that,
Nella has just redeemed herself.
Maybe, quite a thing for a person to sit and "Thought about this, maybe I"m wrong and maybe I've got to learn / adapt to some things".

Not without a little irony, I didn't get to watch it tonight.
Anyone got a Twitter link throttle seen? I don't want to go roaming around on Twitter looking for it, it's way too nasty a place.
Farage’s true intentions are starting to leak out, like an over-filled kitchen bin bag with a hole in the bottom.
Thought what’s-her-face did a brilliant job on the challenge. No hysterics. Just did it. 30m up on a narrow platform, even with all of the safety gear, must have been terrifying.
It's just a bit of nonsense... can't believe people are triggered by him, life's too short
It is nonsense for 9 of them. For Farage it is a vehicle to change his image and increase his profile with a view to getting into mainstream politics. He’s all but admitted this.
I don’t see Fred and the rest inciting racial hate or being a threat to the NHS.
Farage is in there for a reason, and it isn’t good. See the “Far Right” thread.
I'm sure I'd be in a rush to go into the jungle if I was offered the same chunk of change he was... I still can't take any of it seriously, c'mon they ALL have an agenda, you're not seriously suggesting the other 9 are just in there for shits and giggles?
I wouldn't worry too much about 'his' agenda, whatever that may be, it's just a bit of light entertainment, it's designed to be topical and edited to make sure we bite.

Wait what? It’s not a serious political programme designed to educational and insightful into the complexity of modern day politics.

Wot you on about? Getting paid a fortune for doing jobs you don't really want to be doing (often badly), all while spouting edited soundbites that may or may not be genuine agenda, with infighting and the occasional having to eat s**t and smile about it?
Nothing AT ALL like modern day politics.

Hard to believe I know....
Tbh, I was really shocked how Nella laid into Fred. I mean, despite it being a bit close to home, it was a very innocuous remark. To continue cancelling him after he had apologised profusely, showed some real venom!
All of which was a shame, as I'd found her extremely entertaining up to that point!
As for Britneys sis, I think everyone who voted for her to do the trial recognised that it would either kill or cure her, hopefully the latter, which is looking possible.
Nice Ossify!

I read about it on the BBC website and she appears to be another “deluded outrage” wannabe personality that I’m perfectly happy to ignore.
Lock the slimy git in a dunny full of Huntsman spiders and leave him there, screaming.
I caught a bit of the beginning of yesterday’s episode, while I was waiting for my tattooist to sort out a stencil, thankfully her station is upstairs and she doesn’t have a telly on.
Car-crash tv, I refuse to watch such utter crap. 😖

im quite saddened how judgemental people can be over two minutes of edited-for-audience numbers TV.
^^Indeed.
She's only young, lost her dad recentish and lives in an online world alien to most of us including me.
She's not really the anti Christ is she?
The 'net enables the like of Tate remember.
Before we start piling on Nella, let's remember a couple of things:
Widdecombe on Strictly Come Dancing: A woman who proposed that female prisoners should be handcuffed to their hospital beds whilst giving birth.
Portillo: A bisexual man who voted against pro gay legislation to further his career. A coward and a hypocrite.
Christine Hamilton: A professional grifter and con artist rehabilitated by the media.
Stanley Johnson: A criminal wife beater and sexual predator.
Hancock: A man whose face you'd never tire of rubbing up and down a dry stone wall.
Denied the limelight again. lovely.
Though I suspect old Nige will volunteer for tomorrow. I think we know why.
Jamie Lynn seems to have found her mojo. Hope her and Fred get through to the end.
Farage seems to have been lost in the edit. Never mind.
I thought toads were pretty at home in the water? Obviously not.
Oh dear...😁
"He always goes with the leave option."
Made me chuckle anyway. 😁
Noooooooooooo
