what would be your specialist subject?
I'm a bit of a jack of all trades, master of none, so struggling to think of something I would be able to answer 15 questions on. Maybe causes of death in sheep in the UK 🙂
Mmm, probably Old Formula One. Or Stephen King Books Before He Went A Bit Shit.
punk - the early years.
Oscar Wilde. The specialist subject questions are fairly easy as whenever a subject comes up that I know a bit about the questions are to particularly hard. My problem would be general knowledge where I typically only get about 4 or 5 so no chance of winning.
For me first choice would have to be The history of polar exploration.
I’ve seen British military aircraft of World War Two on as specialist subject twice, and both times I’ve got more right than the contestant, but I’d choose post-war British military aircraft. Or the novels of Iain M Banktto give me an excuse to read them again.
Marks and Spencer Shirts - 1199 to 1999
Ziggy Stardust the album
Pole-lathe turning.
Pie shops and bakeries of the Furness Peninsular
Bottom bracket standards 1990 to 2019
Premier league goalkeepers of the 90's and 00's. I have far to much knowledge of this.
Page 3 girls from 1992-1996.
My years as an apprentice were well spent.
The things Binners says in his sleep. 1997 to present.
The things Binners says in his sleep
"I'll only wear the shoes if you give me a sausage roll"
Engines, Physics, Marvel or Transformers G1 or 70/80’s Porn.
Boxing 80s-90s. Probably middleweights. I'd just need to dog out the VCR and watch all my videos beforehand #hoarder
Buffy the Vampire Slayer, the TV series. I'd need to revise though, 144 episodes.
Like Welshfarmer I'm probably better at general knowledge though, tend to get more than the contestants.
Japanese motorbikes 1975 _ 1985.
Mastermind specialist subjects, 2007-present.
Something on Frank Zappa then Methods for setting up tubeless tyres if I got to the next round.
UK Childrens television 1978 - 1990
Procrastination in the post youth era and its effects on mature apprentices.

I haven't started so I can't finish?
Ha!
Japanese motorcycles of the 1970's and 80's.
It would be the EEC Public Procurement Directives of the early 90s. I could probably still quote chapter and verse from them now, yet I couldn't even tell you the number of the current directives.
Round 2 would have to be on Star Wars A New Hope.
Questions to which the answer is ‘bob’
Crop rotation in the 14th century
Star Wars
What I did on my holidays ? Is that allowed ?
The writings of Mervyn Peake 1942 to 1949.
Bottom bracket standards 1990 to 2019
Too much revision needed. Won't have enough spare time to swot up for the General Knowledge round.
The big hitters of Singletrackworld, 2000-2019.
Or
Black Adder quotes.
Classic Mini
Red Dwarf
Discworld
But I'm more general I know loads of useless crap kinda guy
Buffy the Vampire Slayer, the TV series. I’d need to revise though, 144 episodes.
That would be one of mine also, currently working through a rewatch of BtVS and Angel myself. With a bit of revision I could probably field the collected Whedon works.
Hitch-Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy would probably be my first choice (books 1-4 anyway). This popped up on that Million Dollar Question TV show a while back, I got more right than the contestant did.
Red Dwarf perhaps, first half-dozen series anyway. The rest after a few rewatches.
I kinda know a bit about computers, but I can't fathom how to frame that as a Mastermind subject.
But I’m more general I know loads of useless crap kinda guy
General knowledge would be what legs me up. I know a lot of obscure crap but "general" knowledge evades me. I couldn't tell you who won the World Cup last year or who got knocked out of Strictly this week, but if you need the Infinite Lives POKE for Jet Set Willy on the ZX Spectrum I'm your man.
What Trimix does on his holidays.
Living legend, Joe Cocker, 20/05/1944-Present.

The first question could come as a shock....
My house.
Places in my garden that our neighbours cat has shit in 10th-17th May 2019.
General knowledge, hoping there won't be much sport and plenty of science and nature. Er that's it.
The Simpsons seasons 3-12 (or whenever it got shit).
Genuine lol at Joe Cocker.
Jackie Chan movies from the 80’s and early 90’s or Hey Duggee.
The modern french culinary art .
If you were to take part on Mastermind,
...yes, I would kick Humphreys in the nuts.
Srsly, "American production mountainbikes of the late 1980s"
Buffy the Vampire Slayer, the TV series. I’d need to revise though, 144 episodes.
That's where you'd go wrong. Better to do Fawlty Towers. Twelve episodes! And DO mention the war.
Something easy to revise.
Things Geex doesn't know about cycling?
The film script of "Withnail & I"
"I'm Alan Partridge" series 1&2
The causes and cures of prolapse in the common chicken vent.
I’m glad I read this as I now know that I share my birthday with Joe Cocker.
Filthy Rich & Catflap
6 episodes and I watched them around 50,000 times each in the 80’s 👍
Bottom or the cartoon Angry Beavers
