£1500 for a bike you were trying to sell for £1300, you'd take it right!

are you desperate for the money?
Personally I would tell them how much I was after and accept that.
You could split the difference? Take it off them for cash and give them £100 back they will think you are ace and you will be £100 up?

I struggle to believe anyone would fall for that but I guess they do

depends on the circumstances.

if they were going to make a cheque bounce, why would they offer more?

maybe the buyer thinks its worth more, and so therefore offers you more.
it can/does happen!

I'm assuming the buyer doesn't know this otherwise it's all a bit Monty Python, he'd have to be crazy thats not how you haggle..... ok I'll offer £1600 & not a penny less. 😯

No just some matey off here was selling a bike on ebay, I foolishly offered him 800 tubs of tangfastics which he could retail for £3 to £5 a tub 😀 That's quite obviously a gag, right?

He then went and found me on pink bike and started getting angry and calling me funny names, I said Split it and you'll get your money. He then carried on this morning with his angry antics saying he'd been offered £1500, I thought fill your boots. All a bit bizarre.

Sir Jon a fail to see how the buyer has not seen it advertised for the lower price.
