I suspect if you voted for Brexit for any of the reasons politicians were giving, you'll find "you was dun"

He has admitted that the amount of cash the entire battle bus was plastered with was a lie, it might cool the party a little

As I said on the main EU thread:

Quick point of order - Farage, is a liar, he is a bigot, a xenophobe and a racist and many more terrible things - he has played on the fears of people and given them a 'justifiable' enemy to blame all his followers misfortune on. He is, as they say in the trade a "****".

What he is not though, it a Member of Parliament, Nor is he, or was he ever a member of the Official Leave campaign who that bus belongs too - those words on the NHS are from Boris and his team - it's Boris, the soon to be PM of this wounded, dirtied isle that said that and it is up to him to make those lies true, but he can't - there was never £350m in the first place, most of that £350m came straight back to us in the form of the new Swansea Bay Development (who voted out) and BPW situated in Merthyr (who voted out) and a million other projects that weren’t based London (who voted In).

We should be shouting at Boris to make it happen, and ignoring Farage - there are many reasons why we're in this mess today, but it's partly because the media keep pushing him into our living rooms because he's interesting - we created this from the roots of a little fringe party that everyone thought was funny because Robert Kilroy Smith seemed to be having his meltdown in it.

Really? He certainly wasnt on the remain side and he was on a bus with the NHS logo down its side next to the claim. I think I can say with a reasonable level of certainty that Farage was campaigning for leave.

He may not have made the claim about where it would be spent but he has made the claim that we send the EU £350 million per week.

Nigel Farage managed to make no fewer than three factual errors in an 11-minute interview on the Andrew Marr programme on 21 Feb.

The UKIP leader first got Britain’s budget maths wrong. He said “we are paying over £50 million a day in a membership fee” to the EU. As InFacts has already shown when Tory MEP Daniel Hannan made the same mistake, the gross amount we actually send Brussels is £35 million a day. This is because Margaret Thatcher negotiated a rebate on the UK’s budget contribution, cutting the amount sent to the EU.

So he lied, the out campaign lied and we are worried about who lied?

Really

Strange but true. As he says in the video above, he was asked to leave the campaign I suspect because of his toxic views.

I wouldn't say I was worried about it. I made up my own mind and didn't listen to the bullshit, but then again I voted to stay in the EU.

Anybody not campaigning to remain in the EU was part of the Leave campaign. They might have had slightly different titles but they were on the same side!

It twists my noodle that the people that benefited most from the EU are the ones that mostly voted out. total bat s**t crazyness.

Turkeys voting for Christmas

Twice... They also voted the Conservatives in in the first place then were surprised by the cuts to their welfare.

This is after last week's Radio-4 revelation when Leave was asked how the millions per week was going to be divided-up, given £x million already promised to the NHS, the fisherman, the farmers et al

...the numbers don't stack up, the 'pie isn't big enough'

"Ah, we didn't make promises to the farmers, the fisherman, **insert name of any local interest group**, the only number we have promised is to the NHS", guess what, even that was bollox. Crooks the lot of them.

#gove #farage #johnson #all****s

So everyone thought the '£350M that could go to the NHS' sloganeering, meant £350M is guaranteed to the NHS? Or is that how some thick journalists turned it around and made people think that's what the exit campaign were saying?

This is what they said:

Nothing being promised anywhere there. Or here:

Seems that's how most papers and politicians operate, thing is most people don't read properly- they put two and two together and make five, they know this and use it to full advantage whilst committing to nothing.

Doesn't this just prove that people are thick, something that has been backed up by the analysis of those who voted to leave?

Cornwall seems to have managed this impressively well.
They've had £60 million a year of EU funding for the past ten years. Voted 56% for Leave.
Now seeking reassurances that they'll still get funding. 😕

Being Welsh myself I never cease to be amazed by the stupidity of my nation. Oh and finding out that a large percentage of the people in work are closet racists was also disappointing.

I got called a racist because I had just finished reading that Malcolm Kendricks book "The great cholestrol con".

In it he reckons the extra stress of not living in a supportive community of people of the same culture bumped up the risk of a heart attack.

So I told the polish guy at work that he should come and live in Woking (where I live) as there were a lot of polish people and therefore his health might be less at risk.

Bloody Xenophobe I am...

I cant imagine how many people voted to leave with no understanding of the reality it has presented. Have the vote again tomorrow and we would be in by a landslide. Reality is, the politicians made no effort to help people understand the reality, Camerons comments this morning incensed me as he had ample time and exposure to do this well but spent it instead gossiping IMO.

No idea what happens next, its ****ing abysmal

My dad was constantly worried all the way up until yesterday - kept telling me it's not safe to allow our population to make a decision like this, under these circumstances of ignorance, misleading campaigns, unfounded decision-making based on good old English fear/hatred....now I know exactly what he meant. It sounds un-democratic, but somehow it seems a liability when half the population are thick Sun/Mail/Express reading idiots. Sure, let them vote for councils/MPs, but not something as serious as this. We're screwed now.

My mother said pretty much the same last week, she's a well educated well traveled person who worked much of her life as a teacher & then for Save The Children all over the UK.
It was sad to hear her say "I'm old now so won't have to deal with the fall out from this, but I think society in the UK has taken a very insular backward step"

Were we gullible idiots when we fell for "No more top down reorganisation of NHS" cause you never mention it.

Why do you say that? There was a lot of info. out there presented by all sides. Part of the problem though is that the world has got a reduced attention span and everything seems to have to be reduced to sound-bites and 'wins'. Nuance has gone. I suspect the leave politicians were better at that game which wasn't really one about information. What that means for our version of democracy isn't clear yet but the US are going to find out soon enough
