I can honestly say that I have never heard, or heard of any single one of that lot.

So all of them, obviously

Discharge are really good (I bought my Les Paul from Tez)

Ferocious Dog are supposed to be mega. I'll Nino we're good about 20 years ago when I saw them.

Lolz at the Death Metal band logos....no idea how to decipher them!

Yeah - sorry, just me be childish.

This is on at Catton Park this weekend so I looked at the line-up as it was being talked about on local radio. I like my rock but can tell from the logo's it's not for me. 🙂

...apart from Party Cannon who stood out as a reject from CBeebies Live!

Ferocious Dog - yes, really great live. If you see them on a line-up anywhere make sure you see them.

Is it a piss-take and none of them are real?

Nope all real bands!...

Along with Metal band names , early 60's American Christian revivalist album covers are never not going to be legitimately endlessly awkwardly funny

Awkward vintage Christian album cover.

I have only heard of about 3 of those.

But I would go and see EyeHateGod because I do love a bit of sludge

Pretty much all those band logos are interchangeable - you could switch the typefaces around and nobody would notice. This tells me that, though they no doubt consider themselves radical, they are all conformists.

The one band that has chosen to be different, to actually do something to make themselves stand out, are Party Cannon. So I'd go to see them.

Who's that headlining Sunday night? Probably wouldn't see them. What is it with metal bands and dubious teutonic imagery?

As a designer I often browse font libraries and wonder who ever uses all the absolutely bloody awful ones

Thanks for reminding me where they end up

I might be able to tolerate seeing any of them provided I don't have to hear them.

I used to listen to Eyehategod when I needed a good pallet cleanser. It used to blow the dust off after a bad day. They're probably all pensioners now.

This tells me that, though they no doubt consider themselves radical, they are all conformists.

Also see all metal, punk, hardcore etc.

He's right, you know.

When (if - won't) I start my very own true Norwegian black metal band we'll be called Bundle of Twigs cos that's what our logo will look like.

Soen! Have only heard of a handful of others and not overly interested. Would probably watch Dark Tranquility since I was there.

Also see all metal, punk, hardcore etc.

Since most rock bands are 2 guitars (maybe just one) a bassist and a drummer and a singer, in reality they're all no different to this. Eventually everything that starts radically becomes it's own conformity.

The finest chamber music concert in memory, from the Doric String Quartet in Dallas performance

I went to a local tribute fest a few years back. Absolutely brilliant! The fake Bon Jovi headliners were far better than the real thing 🤣

I'd see Discharge (always good) and Ferocious Dog for probably the thirtieth time (been watching them since they were a levs cover band playing to 5 people).

I reckon they'd all be good though.

Bloodstock, innit. The Boy is there this year, their band had a chance to play there on one of the smaller stages but it didn't come to fruition because their singer is a self-aggrandising penis with delusions of adequacy.

The best thing about tribute bands is the names. "Black Charade" there is just genius. The Bon Jovi one missed a trick, I'd have gone with Bon Fauxvi.

Ferocious Dog – yes, really great live. If you see them on a line-up anywhere make sure you see them.

Goodo! They are doing an acoustic set at the Great British Folk Festival, in January. I've listened to some of their stuff already - glad to hear that they are good live.

While I appreciate a fair bit of metal and heavy rock, an entire festival of it would be just too much. I prefer a wider variety of music and styles, this year’s End Of The Road is just about the perfect lineup for me, to the extent that I’m almost certainly going to miss some acts because of performance time overlap - I think there’s something like 22/23 acts I want to see. 😕

Pigs x 7 are a recent addition, for which I’m very glad!

If you saw this festival line up who would you go and see…

No one, those names are a piss take.....right?

On a more serious note I guess most folk wouldn't like my choice of electron ic/techno

There are some bands at the bottom of the Thursday and Friday lineup columns that are so ROCK that they've used black fonts on a black background. But if you zoom right in you'll notice the shade of black is slightly different to the background shade.

That's who I'd go see.

Ferocious dog for the win. I saw them at northern kin and they were amazing and from that performance I saw their acoustic set the following week. I’ve got tickets to see them in November they are that good. Don’t forget to buy your t shirt once you’ve seen them.

These types of comments always remind me of a Bad Religion lyric.

We’ve got spite and dedication as a vehement brew.
The world hates us, well we hate them too
But you’re exempted, of course, if you come join us.

As for the OP I’d go if I had some sort of device that could stop the vocals and guitars from reaching my ears and just leave the bottom end of bass and drums.

Discharge.
Only one I've heard of and I love a bit of Discharge.
Can't imagine they're as good and raw as they used to be though.

I can picture the crowd now....25000 metallers all boiling to death in 30 Deg temps wearing leather jackets, jeans and hi tech hi tops......and I would know as I was once a brethren and stood at MK bowl in full regalia under 30 Deg sun watching metalica...they had fire hoses to cool the crowd.

Over in Germany a mate asked if I wanted to go the "Summer Breeze" festival. I was up for it, thinking it was some kind of reggae type thing. It's only when I looked at the line up and realised the name was kinda ironic and it was a death metal festival.

I declined the offer.

I've only heard of one band/artist. And they are nekrogoblikon. So I'd go see them on Thursday. Probably followed by Nanowar of steel... Sounds interesting.

Friday would be taken up by eyehategod, discharge and Party Cannon 😉

Saturday I'd probably go to see the symbol (out of curiosity) and Cupar... Maybe a they're Fifers.?
Pupil slicers sound good.... Disgruntled teachers or optometrists?

Sunday... If I'm still standing I'd be looking to chill out so I'd give Ill Nino a go (for the metal meteorological reference) and ORBITCULTURE as Gurgeh recommended them over a game of Azad).
I'd finish off the long weekend with a bit of Guilt Trip.

I'd go to some of the bands with incomprehensible tumbleweed logos, so that when people say "who did you see" I can say "well how would I know"
