make it this one.
(is there even such a thing as an analogue synth? It certain looks less than digital...)
Image taken at 27 minutes but the whole concert is worth a listen - celebrating women in early electronic music through to the present day.

Yes there are things as analogue synths - what you have there is a 'modular' synth - as the name suggests, it's made up of individual (analogue or digital) components that plug together to create a unique one-off synth.
(Similar to picking all your bike components separately, if that above doesn't make sense)

Affectionally known as 'Eurocrack' as it can be a endless N+1 pursuit to build the perfect synth.
Cheers - I hadn't realised until the end it was an improvised piece (and in Quadrophonic although that's rather lost on the radio) - fascinating to watch her work.
That’s a Buchla modular system.
a 200e apparently. Here's just the piece she did on it.
Ciani says "Having performed on the Buchla 200 from the late 1960s for a decade, and in recognition of the resurgence of interest in modular electronic instuments today, I am again performing live Buchla, this time on the 200e system, a modern variant of the original modular from the day. In honour of the earlier techniques, that I developed for live performance, I'm referencing the same raw material that I played then.
I assume all those cables are uni-directional gold, even if they look like they came out of the RS catalogue
I missed this and I love Susanne Ciani so thanks to the original poster.
I have a small Eurorack setup. I can't afford a Buchla! đŸ™‚
Ooh nice. I saw the London Contemporary Orchestra live with Actress a month or so ago. Was an unexpected marvel of a gig.
