…even if it was just once and it was only a chuckle, then do me a favour and read this…

https://singletrackmag.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/socialtrack-wishaw-community-pump-track-project-hit-by-thieves/

If you’re even slightly moved by their plight then take a second to consider bunging them a quid or two.

Dan is a nice bloke, doing good work.

Thanks

PP

Can't remember if you've made me laugh, but a very valid cause so donated.

Sounds harsh but I hope they get insurance sorted out. Concern is that the scrotes will be back again.

Where have you been?

Living a life less digital.

Turns out that internet points are, for the most part, a pretty worthless currency.

Been earning real life points instead.

TJ- I was so sorry to hear of your loss. I’ve only been lurking very occasionally and didn’t know until recently

Just donated.

This is so very sad really.

We have a local community centre in town that was completely regenerated by a local church group (it was a very old church that was left abandoned for over 40 years) and it looked stunning...then just last week before the doors had officially opened some scrotes got in, smashed it to bits and covered the place in red paint and swastikas.

Ordinarily I’d say nice to hear from you, but given the circumstances… 🙁

I'm sure I've cracked a smile on occasion...

Chucked a few quid in, hopefully they can recover at least some of the bikes and they catch the scum that nicked them.

Well, that’s awful to hear, the things people do to their own communities, very sad. I’ve made a donation, fingers crossed they get enough!

@perchypanther

I have a silly amount of spare parts I need to get shot of that would be very pumptrackable. Do you have the details of whom I should contact to donate them?

only five of the bikes will be replaced by the insurer,

Why on earth is that the case, out of interest?

Massive thanks to everyone who has donated or does in the future

I should point out that I have absolutely no affiliation with the guys who organise and run the pumptrack other than the fact that my sons use the track and I've fallen off on it a couple of times

I'm just ashamed that this has happened in our community and wanted to bring a bit of attention to Hannahs story that might not have caught the attention of the Chat Forum crowd otherwise.

Apologies for the slightly clickbaity method.

Do you have the details of whom I should contact to donate them?

Dan Scott at Socialtrack. His details are on the GoFundMe page.

I've ridden with him a couple of times in the past and he's a top fella who's committed to bringing biking to the kids who wouldn't normally have the option.

Well done all.

Meh, he’s not even a real panther. Dun.

But he might be a real perch, there's always been something fishy about him. Dun 2.

I may be teaching you to suck eggs here, but some funding ideas that would be really suited to this project:

Local Windfarm (where I would start)

https://funding.scot/funds/a0R0N00000KS2gWUAT/environmental-key-fund-blacklaw-windfarm-community-benefit-fund?page=1

Tesco Bags of help - get nominated and it is minimum £1500.

https://tescocommunitygrants.org.uk/

Co-Op managers discretionary fund - NOT main CoOP grants. Go into shop, tell manager about your project, walk out with upto £500. Take kids with you - works every time in our experience.

Inspiring Scotland Have:

Cashback for Communities (not open, but your project surely would be a winner for this)

https://www.inspiringscotland.org.uk/what-we-do/our-funds/cashback-for-communities/

Link Up

https://www.inspiringscotland.org.uk/what-we-do/our-funds/link-up/

Play Scotland (bikes iz play!) - we've just benefitted from funding from this, it is now closed, but I bet that they will reopen in January for next year. CEO of Play Scotland is cyclist and would be well into this.

https://www.playscotland.org/summerofplay/

There are then a few others, one of top of my head without putting in research:

I donated but only 'cos I want to see a photo of Perchy in his finest leopard print catsuit riding the pumptrack.

That was part of the deal wasn't it?
