Went out for a Sunday morning ride...
Got halfway down the road feeling the breeze in my hair...turned back to go and get my helmet... which made me late so I had to hammer to the meeting point....chuck it in the big ring and down into the 12..which started jumping around all over the place, looked down and the cassette was shifting around on the hub..eased off a bit and cruised to meet the others... took the back wheel off and the lock ring and 12 fell off the hub....put it all back together and off we went....turned on my polar and got a memory failed message....regretted not changing my back pads which were now grinding way too much....dropped the bike on a climb and lost pressure in my front brake...then went to the new section of single track we cut yesterday...stood up to put some power down and my chain slipped and then snapped...fixed it....and decided enough was enough...got home, tightened the cassette, filled and bled my front brake...changed the rear pads which have now ground some nice shiny new grooves in the disc and then changed the chain...went for a quick ride to check everything works and the chain's slipping big time in the middle ring...had a closer look, I've lost 3 teeth and the ring looks very worn...trip to the LBS for me tomorrow...
